Met all my needs!
Denon has been the brand on this market for a long while and I have been using an old model and trusting it. It was outdated so I wanted to upgrade with this new model. Basically, everything this model has meets all my needs. Only one thing not convenient is that you have to connect it to a TV or a monitor first to configure all the connections beforehand. Now a days, we are buying OLED TVs and these TVs do not display the Denon set up graphic steps automatically! I had to fumble hours to get all connected device configured and operate correctly :( . Excellent overall AV and great price point!
I replaced a Denon AVR2113CI to go to 8K and add a number of wireless Home150 speakers throughout my multi storied house. The AVR2113CI is a great unit, however, I was forced to upgrade for a number of reasons. My initial impression is quite favorable and it was a direct installation swap for my older Denon. The sound quality with my Infinity speakers is absolutely wonderful. After several weeks of usage I can find nothing unfavorable to report. Picture quality, contrast, tone, etc., is outstanding with my Samsung TV. Audio quality is also outstanding and there is no distortion with the Home 150 wireless speakers whatsoever. One thing worth noting here is that the Audyssey setup is slightly different with the newer Denon units. By that I mean that when calibrating your room sound field ... In my previous installation I had a front, center, bass, and rear speaker configuration. However, Audyssey would not allow me to calibrate the config UNLESS there were middle speakers. It would not move to the rear speakers during calibration. So, I was forced to purchase two (2) Infinity center speakers to complete the calibration. I'm not complaining, it was just a bit of a surprise. Other than that one quirk I'm extremely happy with the purchase and the price point for this AV. You can spend more money on a Denon AV, however, as I have always discovered, the speakers make all the difference in the end. Buy excellent speakers and save on the receiver.

Great sound and picture Easy setup
This AVR-S960H is an upgrade from an older Denon receiver. Immediately noticed a sharper picture on our 4K HD TV. Very easy setup for 2 zones and bluetooth pairing with our smart phones. So many configurable/assignable HDMI inputs makes it so easy to hook up all of our devices. I highly recommend this receiver for sound and picture to get the most out of your TV and surround sound investment. This AVR-S960H is an upgrade from an older Denon receiver. very disappointed, does not compare to the Sony STR DN1080 receiver it replaced
I am unable to assign the type or speakers my regular PSB Stratas Gold front tower speakers and center speakers and my Klipsch Dolby Atmos surround and back speakers.
