Outstanding, Excellent, Flawless Victory
forget the somewhat inferior movie soundtracks, 'Mortal Kombat : The Album' is by far the best music of the franchise to be released on a compact disc. For starters, the package is authentic video game MK, with the inlay featuring the SEGA choose your fighter screen shot, the character poses and a snippet of a rare video game commercial, which i hasten to add was partly responsible for MK's cult status. In the commercial, people all over the world came together and yelled "MORTAL KOMBAT". The irony being is it was this idea that made the official movie theme so cool! Good news, that song is on this CD!!! The music here, produced and performed by a bunch from NYC (maybe ?) called 'The Immortals', create a blend of Euro-House meets The Prodigy with ... forget the somewhat inferior movie soundtracks, 'Mortal Kombat : The Album' is by far the best music of the franchise to be released on a compact disc. There is even a Drum 'n' Bass effort thrown in for good measure! Superb stuff, it has to be said and when the odd sample here and there, lifted from the original game kick in ("Kano wins" "Liu Kang" "Test Your Might", "Fight" being the best examples - who can forget "Excellent" either!) it only goes to further enhance the listening pleasure for those who are into Mortal Kombat! Interestingly, the music is not listed in chronological order as with the game line up: 'Kano, Liu Kang, Rayden, Johhny Cage...' etc. In fact it can be fun arranging the tracks in that order - for all the perfectionists out there! Personally speaking, I think the first 4 tracks are cool, with the Kano and Liu Kang tracks in particular. For me, its a toss up between Liu Kang and Techno Syndrome (The Offical MK Theme). I would have to go with Liu Kang because the intro is amazing, although you cannot beat a dose of "MORTAL KOMBAT" in your aphex... anyone with an interest in the Mortal Kombat franchise, especially the early days - SEGA or SNES should own this CD. 10/10 "Outstanding"

Awesome techno with bad ass beats.
It's great driving music with great bass lines and decent lyrics. each song is devoted to one of the characters from the first Mortal Kombat and uses samples from the games. my personal favorites are Tracks 3.) Sub-Zero (Chinese Ninja Warrior) and 8.) Rayden (Eternal Life). the whole soundtrack just makes me wanna.... FIGHT!
