great all in one printer

Like: Output, the text is crisp and clear (better than laser), Photo's are excellent. can't tell the difference from processed. Fast printing. quieter than older models. dislike: Time it takes to install drivers (about 20 minutes). Time it takes for the printer to calibrate itself(about 15 minutes). save yourself some time and install the drivers on your computer at the same time you turn on the printer. the scan drive is noisy and sounds like it's out of sync. It does everything I need it to do and some. I recommend purchasing an extended warranty. The HP C309A All-in-One Printer is simply the best all-around printer I have ever used for home use. I print onto a lot of printable CD/DVD's and this printer works great for that task. I use DISKETCH CD LABEL NCH SOFTWARE to build the CD info, then load the printable CD into the printer tray, follow the printer instructions in the little LCD window, then when asked to, send the computer info to the printer, being certain to first, go to preferences and choose the CD format with CD/DVD tray chosen (not a paper page size), choose either small or large diameter CD/DVD as per the size of CD/DVD that is being placed in the CD/DVD tray, paper type, and choose "best" quality for output. The printer also interfaces via wireless capability with the computer making it possible to ... The HP C309A All-in-One Printer is simply the best all-around printer I have ever used for home use. For best results printing photo's, use the recommended HP Advanced Photo Paper and be sure to choose that type in the Preferences settings before printing a photo. The self feed tray on the top feeds paper pages in continuously for copying if one wants to do them that way or copy from the flatbed. For scanning, one can scan directly from the flatbed to a USB flash drive. Read photo's from an SD card via the SD card slot too. For the money, this is a great printer. The only thing I had to learn was how to actually remove the printer head and clean out the gunk after a lengthy time (years) of use when it wouldn't print anymore. I was devastated to think about giving up this printer so I followed a YouTube video of instructions on how to clean the printer head, dried it out overnight, reinserted it, put the ink cartridges back in, followed the printer LCD prompts and the printer works like new. Be gentle if performing this process. The printer head basket is clearly marked with an arrow to help remove it and be sure to have the ink cartridges out first. Put everything back in in the order things were removed and it will work. I hope to get many more years use out of this machine. Because I like it so well, I invested in a second printer so as to have one on hand if and when the first one fails permanently.

My mother gave me one of these for Christmas last year. I doubt very much that it will survive dumpsteriation before this Christmas. The printer usually doesn't recognize ink cartridges, even brand new ones. I called HP about this problem, and they gave me instructions on cleaning the tiny contact heads on the carriage, and gold contact points on cartridges, to assure electrical continuity. Sorry Charlie, it just don't cut da moutard--:(* Staples pays about $3 for each ink cartridge returned for recycling, and I have at least a dozen fairly fresh ones my mother gave me last Christmas along with this cursed machine. Empty or right out of a factory sealed package, if I get a dozen off-color prints out of the machine before something more goes wrong, it's a small ... Standard features like copy and fax aren't bad, but don't ask it to do anything in color. I do have a monochrome all-in-one laser machine from Dell-- it's not wireless, but it works fine. Co$t was less than half what my mother paid for this piece of junk. I purchased it last December, not knowing that this HP lodestone was to appear under the tree on Christmas Day. Time for a new printer here~~ this one will probably end up on Ebay, or being traded in to a retailer such as Staples or Micro-Center, toward something that actually works. I've heard that HP's laser printers are pretty good. No comment there, because I've never owned one. Their inkjet printers are crap, and then they charge $10 for a teaspoon of ink contained within a small plastic cartridge. Don't take my word for anything:-- judge for yourself, and base your opinion upon what YOU experience, first hand. If you've had good luck with this product, and beg to differ with my evaluation, I take no offense at that. Tell the truth~~ that way, it's hard to go wrong... God Bless....

Excellent Printer - does it all
This HP printer has all the features you would ever need, at least for my home office needs, copy, print, scan, fax. Many of the new model printers do not have FAX capability. They claim to be all-in-one printers, but do NOT have FAX. This printer also has two paper trays, one for your standard paper and another for your 4x6 photo paper - no need to get up and down to change paper. Once again, most other models do not have two trays. This model is recently discontinued according to local stores, so I was grateful to find it with this eBay seller. I have purchased two of them. It's a little bit larger that some models, but well worth it. The quality of paper and photo printing is awesome. Biggest plus - it's WIRELESS so I can print from my laptop. For me, it was a bit ...
