Sesame Street Toddlers Deluxe is a collection of three educational CD-ROMs from the developer Children's Television Workshop, the same folks who are responsible for the PBS television series Sesame Street, and published by Creative Wonders, a division of The Learning Company. The three titles in this package are Sesame Street: Elmo's Art Workshop, Sesame Street Letters, and Sesame Street Numbers.<br><br>Combined, these three "edutainment" titles are designed to instruct children ages two to six in the following areas: computer familiarity, mouse skills, letter and number recognition, vocabulary, rhyming, sound associations, creativity, shapes and colors, creativity, phonics, spatial relationships, visual discrimination, self-confidence, and more. This collection also includes over 30 activities, a guide for parents, 50 printable projects, a customizable screensaver (for Windows users only) and Sesame Street songs and videos.<br><br>The first disk contains Sesame Street: Elmo's Art Workshop. Join Elmo and your other favorite Sesame Street characters as you draw, paint, and create artwork and special projects. Not only an art studio, this game teaches children creative expression, colors and shapes, letters and numbers, visual discrimination, computer familiarity, and mouse skills. Verbal instructions from Elmo will guide you through the activities and large onscreen buttons will benefit young users, but some coordination is required to use the mouse.<br><br>Sesame Street: Elmo's Art Workshop offers two modes of gameplay, Kid's Mode and Parent's Mode. Kid's Mode allows you to set up the program so the main menu bar is not visible. All activities are accessible in this mode, but you cannot print, save, load a previously saved image or use the HELP function. The game automatically starts in Parent's Mode, where all menu options are available. You can switch back and forth between modes during gameplay.<br><br>In Windows Sesame Street: Elmo's Art Workshop offers a bonus feature, a Screen Saver Slide Show. You can take any saved images and display your artwork on the screen along with opening credits and a soundtrack.<br><br>On the second disk of this collection is Sesame Street Letters, which lays the foundation for pre-reading skills. Oscar the Grouch and Telly are your hosts through eight activities that will introduce you to letters and phonics while telling stories, singing and exploring the Sesame Street neighborhood. The activities in this game include the Trash Game, the Shape-O-Matic Game, "What's My Rhyme?," Snuffy Says as well as interactive storybooks, radios, televisions and telephones.<br><br>To play these games you will have to explore Sesame Street. The Trash Game emphasizes letter, object and sound identification skills and takes place on Sesame Street by Oscar's Trash Can with Oscar and Telly. After emptying a trash bag filled with items and letters, you must match the objects with the appropriate starting letter before throwing them away. In The Shape-O-Matic Game you will visit Bert and Ernie's Apartment where you'll learn to differentiate and become familiar with shapes. "What's My Rhyme" takes place at Big Bird's Nest and reinforces listening skills by having you compare words based on their sounds. Big Bird will say an incomplete rhyme and will ask you to find the missing word to finish. You will also go to Snuffy's Cave to play Snuffy Says, his version of I Spy. Snuffalupagus will say a sound and you must find an object in his cave that starts with the same sound. This game teaches phonetics and pre-reading and spelling skills.<br><br>Disk three is Sesame Street Numbers, which lays the foundation for pre-math skills. With Elmo as our guide, explore the neighborhood and visit with many Sesame Street Muppet characters.
