As good as cameras costing 3;4 or more times as much
I've been looking for a camera with a good zoom for a while among the usual high priced cameras, until a friend told me about the Fuji FinePix S range. I dedided to try the S2950 and it really lives up to all the reviews I've read. It is the size and weight of a compact camera which it is, but it has the 18x Zoom and 14MPs gives a very good picture with clarity of cameras costing loads more, that I have compared it with. The only thing I would change is the batteries , If you are using it a lot you have to carry 4aa spares, but buy some high capacity rechargeable batteries they are worth it. On auto setting without flash I took pictures inside Hexham Abbey, it looked like I'd used floolights. For the price you cannot beat it. great camera exellent value for the money
I bought this camera as a upgrade for the earlier Fujifilm finepix S1500 model I was very happy with the S1500 but I thought that this newer model wih some new features and a longer zoom would be a good buy . I was right this is a great camera and for the money I don,t think there is much to better it. Its so easy to use just leave it on auto and it does it all for you, you really can get some great pictures. If you want to you can adjust the settings to suit yourself its really up to you.its got some great features like smile and blink detection anti shake and numerous programs for different situations, all this with HD pictures and video. if you want to move up from simple point and shoot this is the camera for you . Its not to big and heavy uses batteries available any where in the ... Camera I got, didn't have 18 x optical zoom, I sent it back
I chose this camera as the replacement of my Konica Minolta Dimage Z3, because it has faulty batery closing lid. I wanted cheaper camera with higher optical zoom then 12 x like Konica Minolta and less features, which I hardly use. Fujifilm Finepix S 2950 looked like good buy. When I went to check it outside, what it really does, I took my older camera to compare pictures. I was disapointed, that despite it is in the product description and also written on the camera, it doesn't have 18 x optical zoom. When I compared pictures from both cameras with maximum zoom, Fujifilm was slightly worse with zoom then 12 x Konica Minolta. What also annoyed me, that it was impossible to cover lens when it was open and I didn't take picture at the moment and it was 'on' all the time untill I switched it ... Ideal first Bridge camera.
Bought this as a treat to myself mainly because I wanted a camera with a decent zoom so that I could photograph the birds in my garden and could actually see the distant views I was trying to capture. It's the first bridge camera I have ever had and I love it.It's a bit bulky but I can still fit it into my pocket if it rains. The picture quality is great - I haven't mastered all the different modes yet, but I'll get there. Instruction manual is rubbish - very basic and you have to find the full one on line or off the disc. (Bit complicated and pages long!!) Only other grouse is the stupid lens cap which is rigid and falls off easily. It is attached, but this also means that as you're trying to get that picture of a deer it clatters against everything and you lose your subject! Still love ... Well, I have done a little test working with it and I was impress with it perfomance "specially its Zoom perfomance" the good long range and neet image was the subject to observe. The other thing I like very much of this little Fellow is the mesages he sends you reminding you thing I'm not doing right while shooting and that is something for an old guy like me, is handy and easy to carry and I'm having a good time with it, I'm waiting and see it in my next holidays. The only thing I don't like of it is, the manual, I would like to print a page of its technical graph and stack to the wall for a quick memory... but I can't... so I have to seat in front of the computer and read the manual... and this is tire. Otherwise, at the moment this little thing is something... and what can I said about ...
