Sarah can rely only on Reese (Michael Biehn), a soldier sent from the future to protect her from the seemingly indestructible Terminator and save humanity. This low-budget masterpiece was the breakthrough film for director Cameron, who weds special effects, thrills, and understated romance to create one of the finest action films of the 1980s, which spawned many imitations but few equals. Science fiction author Harlan Ellison sued over the film's similarities to his own works, especially the OUTER LIMITS episode "Demon with a Glass Hand," and won acknowledgement in the film's credits. Schwarzenegger will forever be known as the relentless Terminator, a heartless killing machine who returns (in a kinder, gentler form) in 1991's TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY.

Beware those sensors...BEEP...BEEP...BEEP.
I take this movie seriously. It is about the machines taking over the humans. It was made thirty years ago, in the year 1984. "1984" was a famous book about the new computerized age of "Big Brother". It all meshes together neatly. In 1984 I was fired from a good job by a company who needed to get bailed out in 2008. The reason I was fired is because a machine took my place. Today, the machines are everywhere, taking good jobs away slowly, but surely. The humans became dumb. Those who build the machines are rich beyond comprehension. Every beep you hear in this new world of machines tells you that you are controlled by them. As in this spectacular movie, I fight the machines constantly. So what will it be? Who will ultimately win? Notice that the powerful vehicles used in this ... I take this movie seriously. It is about the machines taking over the humans. It was made thirty years ago, in the year 1984. "1984" was a famous book about the new computerized age of "Big Brother". It all meshes together neatly. Yes indeed, there is a lesson to be learned by this masterpiece from the mind of James Cameron. Just what sci-fi adventure is he conjuring up now? As for ex-governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, he will definitely be BAAAAK.

Why It Is Worth The Money
I think it is a 5 star product because it is one of the best movies in the 1980s of all time! It is very cool to watch it on VHS!

Scary and Adrenaline Pumpin action/sci-fi film
The Terminator - Scary, tense, and chilling, A great Sci-Fi film Dark and disturbing, definitely one of my favorite movies from the 80's. Arnie is absolutely spectacular as the evil Terminator. This movie really started it all, in my opinion Terminator opened the doors for many action/sci-fi movie stars. Terminator is a classic movie that belongs in any movie fans collection.
