Moosewood Cookbook - Great Vegetarian Starter Book
This book has been around for about thirty years and is a top selling cookbook which is an accomplishment since it is a vegetarian cookbook. The author Mollie Katzen was a frontrunner on the vegetarian cooking scene in the United States and this book is a comfortable fit with the other cookbook staples like Betty Crocker Cookbook and anything by one of my favorites, Julia Child. The 1977 cookbook has been revised and the newer edition more accurately reflects today's dietary habits, preferences, ingredients and the author's cooking style. The great recipes that made the first cookbook, the Moosewood Restaurant and the author so well known are still there, just adjusted to be a bit healthier. I enjoyed the home spun feel of the text and illustrations that make you feel ... For those new to the vegetarian scene, there are pantry notes, kitchen tool recommendations, conversions and modifications to make your foray into vegetarian cuisine simpler and successful. The newer edition contains about 25 additional recipes that will help inspire you to explore a healthier, natural way of cooking vegetarian.

Original Moosewood Cookbook
Thank you for the original edition of this book. It is in great condition, and I am happy to have it back in my library. I loved the original recipes, before they were updated, and have been looking for this version for years.

Fantastic cookbook with easy and delicious recipes
I ADORE this cookbook. It is in even better condition than I expected. I held a dumb supper for Samhain and decided to focus on loved ones who were alive in 1977. I got this Moosewood to help me with menu planning since I wasn’t alive then (the dumb supper was for my husband’s loved ones) and I had oodles of options and ended up making 4 things from it: Mushroom barley soup, mushroom and cheese stuffed acorn squash, apple crisp and pumpkin pie. All turned out wonderfully. I plan to use this for Thanksgiving and Yule as well! I haven’t been this excited over a cookbook in a long time. It’s also laugh out loud funny at times and has beautiful artwork. I posted a picture of one of the details that made me laugh. I ADORE this cookbook. It is in even better condition than I expected. Moosewood Cookbook is easy to use in it's paperback binding
I have very happily owned a copy of this cookbook for many years. My husband and I love the recipes we've tried. The use of herbs in the dishes is masterful. I was given the book that I own, and I bought this one to give to a knew friend who also loves good food.

So happy
This was definitely a older version and a little sun fadded on the outside but im not complaining. Especially for the price ($3.00!) I've wanted this cook book for years and im so happy I finally own it. The inside is perfect cant wait to try the recipes.
