    Excellent for kids

    It's a fantastic book to read to your kids. It's not too long or too scary, so it's great for storytime, bedtime, etc. It comes witha CD of the author reading the story, which is interesting to hear, it adds a new twist to the story. I heard an interview with the author, which is why I originally bought it.

    tell me as scary story

    I am a storyteller by profession and this story fits every aspect of stories I like. If told correctly this story lends itself to being told in a variety of ways. I like to scare the bejesus out of the kids if I can in a nice way, and this book has Hitchcokian suspense and the jump out of your seat moments told in a loving and funny way. I would recomend reading this book with its excellent illustrations any time but especially during the Halloween time of year. I bought this book to have constant access to the story for kids any time of the year, so buy this book and tell your kids a scary story(but not too scary)anytime. Uncle Dave

    A Story To Tell

    This book is great to read aloud. It asks questions and engages the readers. You can get really animated and have a fun time with this book. My husband read it aloud to the second grade class Halloween party and he had the kids screaming and laughing. The story is funny and scary. If you want to get dramatic about it--read it first to yourself to get the timing down before you do it for kids. Have fun!

    Tell Me a Scary Story . . . But Not Too Scary!

    I really liked this book. The illustrations were great, especially the faces of the characters. I loved the interaction of the Dad with the little girl - asking throughout if it was too scary or should he keep going. I would not recommend this for 5 year olds and younger. It would be a lot of fun to try with 1st or 2nd graders. I can't wait to give it a try. I have not listened to the CD yet, so I don't know how good it is. I would recommend this book!
