À propos de ce produit

Product Information

The extraordinary story of a man's quest for truth. It will change the way you think and feel about your life. "The cycle you're working on is a cycle called 'yourself.'" "The study of the art of motorcycle maintainence is really a study of the art of rationality itself. Working on a motorcycle, working well, caring, is to become part of a process, to achieve an inner peace of mind. The motorcycle is primarily a mental phenomenon." -- Robert M. Pirsig

"Profoundly important... full of insights into our most perplexing contemporary dilemmas... It is intellectual entertainment of the highest order." --The New York Times "It lodges in the mind as few recent novels have... The book is inspired, original... As the mountains gentle toward the sea--with father and child locked in a ghostly grip--the narrative tact, the perfect economy of effect defy criticism... The analogies withMoby Dickare patent. Robert Pirsig invites the prodigious comparison... What more can one say?" --The New Yorker "It's a miracle.. sparkles like an electric dream. Freshness, originality... that seduces you into loving motorcycles, as tender in their pistons as the petals in the Buddah's dawn lotus." --The Village Voice, "Profoundly important... full of insights into our most perplexing contemporary dilemmas... • Mindfulness part one............

Awesome book about life and being the kind of person who fixes thinks and is engaged with life. Mindfulness. A little too philosophical for me Iin some places but the other parts are just amazing. In some ways similar to SHOP CLASS AS SOULCRAFT . these books are WAY more into the topic than the title suggests. I would say these books are a must read for everybody from accountants to mechanics. Thanks.

  • If I could put time in a bottle. "Jim Croce"

I've seen this book for years searching for books. But I didn't bother to purchase and read it. Sometimes books need to find you and the time just isn't right. I had recently lost my dad and once again this book popped up. This time I purchased it. I found it at times hard to follow, sometimes a bit slow, but compelling. I couldn't put it down for long. I found myself stealing away time with the book. It's a great book. The perspective is intriguing and to me personally seems to offer a lot of answers to the when, why, and what of modern life. Everyone will find something special in this book. I highly suggest this as a must read. It appears to have an almost cult following and now I understand why.

  • QUICK TAKE: A father, a son & a REAL cross-country trip

A FESTIVUS MAXIMUS QUICK TAKE REVIEW (*NO SPOILERS*). What you need to know about this book: 1. You should consider it NON-FICTION. It reads best if you accept it as being autobiographical. 2. This book tells two parallel stories, and alternates back-and-forth between them. One of these stories is easy to follow; the other, however, is substantially more difficult ... but it is worth the effort. 3. The first, most basic story is a relatively easy-to-read and simple to understand travelogue: a man is taking a motorcycle trip across the country with his age-twelvish son, hoping to "re-connect" with him. In this story, the author describes the beauty and simplicity of rural 1960's America, along with the interpersonal realities of spending many hours together sharing a single ...
