After landing on the beaches of Normandy, soldiers spread out to liberate Europe from the Nazi regime. In Call of Duty 3, single players focus on the stories of four Allied soldiers that begin at Operation Cobra and leads to the eventual Liberation of Paris. Game room generals will lead the group through 14 missions filled with multiple attack routes as a member of either the American, British, Polish, and Canadian armies. Each path requires the use of special tactics in order to navigate the course effectively. Soldiers come equipped with special skills such as the British SAS soldier's knack for sabotage, and the Canadian mechanized infantry's expertise at inventive vehicles. <br><br>Internet action is available for up to 24 people in a single or split-screen game. Players choose from five different classes of character such as medic and anti-armor, and then customize gameplay options. Several game types include "Team Battle," "Capture the Flag," "War," "Headquarters," and a single flag "CTF" that can be played out on many different maps. Online achievements are awarded for accomplishments similar to getting the first kill in a multiplayer match, or being in the top percentage of scores for ranked games. Environments include deformable objects such as piles of wood that move and splinter when shot, and players may destroy soft cover to flush enemies out in the open. Additional "Battle Action" invites gamers to shoot less and get their hands dirty setting C-4 charges, and fighting Germans with their bare hands.

Great Gameplay- Fails to Fully Use PS3's Abilities
First off, the Call of Duty series has really taken off as a solid contender against the Medal of Honor series, and Call of Duty 3 is a strong addition. As previous versions of Call of Duty, COD 3 takes you through a certain time period of WWII through several different peoples' perspectives. Here is the quick and dirty of the game: Pros: -Intuitive controls -Decent graphics (see Cons) -Awesome all-around sound -Many perspectives in game progression -Long single-player campaign -Bonus interviews with WWII vets for beating the game Cons: -Zoom-in aiming system -Only 720p output -Graphics are essentially the same as XBox360 -Sometimes the AI is Artificially Un-Intelligent -Use of Six-Axis controller is awkward and seems to be forced into gameplay The gameplay is great because the ... One thing that it is a constant annoyance, however, is that when you zoom in, it is very hard to aim your weapon. However, there are many weapons at your disposal and it is fun just to try them out. You'll be disappointed if you have a 1080p capable TV because the game only supports 720p output. But unless you are a stickler for graphics, it doesn't matter too much. The Pros and Cons pretty much outline everything else, although I must say that the campaign is very easy on the easiest level and will not take long to beat. In addition, even if you manage to beat the game on the hardest difficulty, the online multi-player is awesome. That being said, if you want an even better FPS shooter for the PS3, the go for Resistance: Fall of Man. But in my opinion, if you can swing it, both are worthy for your game library.

Pros + Gorgeous, slick visuals with nice detail. + Trademark 'Call of Duty' small part of a big war action. + Realistic weapons & improved sniping & better tank driving than the previous installment. + Intense gameplay througout the whole game. Cons - No co-op. - No real improvements over 'Call of Duty 2' except for some new multiplayer stuff like being able to sprint. - Lots of glitches that make the game almost unplayable on harder difficulties like the CPU always knowing where you are & useless teammates. - Useless mini-games that attempt to break up boredem within the game like close quarters combat (visually cool though) & bomb planting. - Shortage of checkpoints. Comments There aren't many improvements to the series but there are quite a few more glitches. These glitches are ... You will also get tired of playing levels over on harder difficulties because checkpoints are so rare during big battles. Driving still needs some work & the series needs to break away from the traditional 1st person shooter by allowing you to take cover or sprint. Sprinting is available in multiplayer but never in the campaign. But getting shot trying to peak around corners gets old, especially when the enemy can hit you with blind fire. This is still a solid game though & plenty of intense Nazi-fighting fun. Verdict Fun WWII game. Not a must have but if you are a fan don't pass it up.

Best WWII Game for Next-Gen!
Graphically, this game boasts the power of the PS3, despite being the one of the first war games for the system. Like Call of Duty 4, you experience the war as an American Marine and a British SAS Force to invade Ger-nevermind, I won't go explaining what happens because it's all too obvious and everyone knows the ending. But again, some of the visuals I'd say were better than COD4; like the grass and tree movements via-wind and contact are great aspects of the game, along with the light effects. But the only drawback I had was the death animation and the lagging for the NPCs, both Allied and Axis. Sometimes, an NPC(s) can run and get themselves stuck on a wall or some obstacle and have a continuous running animation. There is no blood either, which COD4 outshines this game in that ... great game
Arrived a day early, the disc was a little dirty but once cleaned ran fine, with no hiccups during gameplay. Had it on the PS2 but don't have a PS2 so got it on PS3. Had a sticker price of 1.99 which I'm kinda iffy about, it was on the original photo of the product so no complaints. Graphics are okay ish for a 2006? game.

Great Game, But Online is Garbage
This game is great when you play single player. The realism is quite impressive, especially considering it was the early bird game released with the playstation 3. However the online play is terrible. It's hard for me to connect to "all players", therefore i cannot join in a game. I have a 5mbs DSL line, so I don’t know what the problem is. Even when i join a game, it probably going to be the one map that everyone plays. It gets so annoying, because 80-90% of all the games are played at Verdun. If you find a game with another map, there is usually less then 4 people in the map. Positive - Single player mission are good - Incorporation of the sixaxis controller - Graphics are impressive Negative - Online is horrible a) Everyone plays mainly one map b) Connections are horrible - I beat the ...
