Great Piece of New York Yankees History!
I am a Red Sox fan and just like any Yankees fans I am devoted die hard fan to my team! I have added this great dvd set to my collection because I do admire and really respect the Yankees (like Dr. Smith on Lost in Space the sort of villian you love to hate or visa versa!) These games are really classic and are games I got to enjoy watching as a youth loving baseball! I think though that a few games that should have been added to this collection might have been Dave Rhegetti's July 4, 1983 no hitter against the Red Sox which was a classic game! Or perhaps one of these games like David Cones, David Wells or Dwight Goodens no hitters might be concidered. But these were games in this boxed set were ones voted by the Bronx Bombers basic fans on a survey taken by the NY press! ONE other ... I am a Red Sox fan and just like any Yankees fans I am devoted die hard fan to my team! NOW THE GAMES OF THIS BOXED SET: 1976 ALS Game 5 thriller vs Kansas City Royals: Chris Chamblis smashes a home run in the bottem of the 9th inning to send the Yankees to their first World Series in 11 Seasons. 1977 World Series Game 6 vs Los Angeles Dodgers: Reggie Jackson hits three homeruns, an amazing feat that will never be matched by any one else! 1995 ALDS Series Game 2 vs the Seattle Mariners: A 15th inning thriller that the Yankees out last the Mariners thanks to Don Matingly's only post season homerun and his final appearence at Yankee Stadium before he retired at the end of the 1995 season as one of the greatest players in NY Yankees history. 1996 World Series Game 6 vs Atlanta Braves: After the Yanks are demolished in the first two games of the fall classic, the Yankees bounce back to SHOCK the Braves and win the series due to this game thriller! 2001 World Series Game 4 vs Arizonia Diamond Backs: the upstart young Backs are stunned by tremendous heroics by "MR. Yankee" Derek Jeter's game winning homerun to win this exciting game! 2003 ALCS Game 7 vs Boston Red Sox: Like Bucky Dents 1978 homerun that stunned Red Sox fans for a generation, Aaron Boone in the bottem of the 11th inning once again STUNNED Red Sox Nation with a game ending thrilling homerun that sent the Sox packing and the Yankees to another World Series against upcoming Florida Marlins! This Boxed set also has many Historic Highlites from amazing games that have been part of Yankee Stadium since it was built and enshrined in 1921 and has become the greatest sports icon in history for the greatest sports franchise in the history of the world!

This Yankees DVD it is a must have for any Yankee fans who really likes to remember those glorious days of the New York Yankees as a dynasty. Those years were even that they overpaid for players, it was not so much like these days and of course, they performed better than today’s Yankees roster, even if they had old player, they helped on making that miracle happen. This DVD contains 6 determinating games in the 1990's and part of the 2000's, were they looked like the Yankees we like to watch. The games are pretty good, in specific that 2003 ALCS Game 7 against Boston where they rallied back from a 5-2 trail in the bottom of the eighth inning against Pedro Martinez to win the ALCS in the eleventh inning with an impressive but not expected Aaron Boone’s Walk Off Homer. The quality of the ... This Yankees DVD it is a must have for any Yankee fans who really likes to remember those glorious days of the New York Yankees as a dynasty. A must have for Baseball fans!
As a fan of MLB history, I am very pleased with the Yankees "Essential Games" Collection. Whether it's the walk off homerun by Chris Chambliss, the three home-run performance by Reggie Jackson or Don Mattingly's final appearance at Yankee Stadium, these six games are sure to please not only Yankee fans but all fans who love the history of this great game. Some of these broadcasts are nearly forty years old but still appear in great condition for their age.
