Mix amp makes all the difference
I had the OG Astro a40’s for my 360 and loved them. Recently got back into gaming on the Xbox one. The kit I originally bought came with the m80 mix amp (the one that plugs into the controller) it had great sound quality, but was only Stereo sound so I found I was often looking behind a just to realize it was a teammate standing next to me. If you play any FPS you need the MixAmp pro TR. now I can tell exactly where a shot came from, a step was taken etc. no more looking around to find them, you can hear EXACTLY where they are. Makes your game awareness and immersive experience much richer. It’s something that can be hard to explain. But once you play with it, you will feel like a fish out of water without it. This is the Bees Knees!
I have had the A40 with mixer for over 5 years now. Though I didn’t purchase it on EBay, I purchased from a GameStop when it first came out, or around 2014. The listed price on here is about $275.00 cheaper than when I purchased it. I have had my animals rip the usb cord out of the back of the mixer and bent the metal piece inside a little, but after getting a new cord, it works fine again. It’s nice that it goes directly into the console via fiber optic cable and usb, making it easier even if your controller is wired, so you don’t have extra cables coming from the controller. The headphone soft part that rests on the ear is very comfortable, though I have had to super glue mine back on. Works great again. I will say as of now my speakers are starting to sound like the ocean through a ... I have had the A40 with mixer for over 5 years now. This product has lasted longer than any turtle beach, and those $400 Triton Warheads when Halo 4 came out. They lasted about 6 months.I ha e replaced the Mute cord. It was my fault, I sat on and crushed it. The mixer has given me No problems. The new one doesn’t have a mute, but a volume instead. I prefer the mute, so if you break yours, make sure you order the right replacement. I have replaced the microphone, but I don’t really use it that much anyway. The durability and quality is the best Ive ever experienced. It’s just like any great tool. It’s not that flashy with designs and has one solid color, but to me, none of that matters. It’s all about quality and shelf life. This product for my gaming over the last several years is the Bees Knees!

Recieved the item in 3 days, extremely fast. Best headphones sound/quality wise ive ever experienced. The only issue is these things said used and they sure meant it. While they arent destroyed or anything there are consistent marks on them and the white of the headphones in certain areas are yellowing. Mixamp volume nobs dont light up either like they are supposed too. I clean both items as best as i could which did help some. I can definitely look past the cosmetic part of it, just stating a fact. If your looking for a definite used item with the great audio quality then these are for you. Astro is still far the best headphones. Recieved the item in 3 days, extremely fast. Very comfortable and great quality
I have been buying gaming headsets since online gaming became available. This set is by far the best sounding one so far. I have used many different sets from Turtle Beach and Sade's over the years, but this one is the most comfortable too. The included mix amp gives you full control over your chat mixer and makes it easy to control excessive chatter in game. As far as I am concerned, this will be my last headset until it wears out. Great product. I had a little bit of trouble getting it setup for the first time. Astro Gaming provided excellent tech support and had me up and running in minutes.I have been buying gaming headsets since online gaming became available. Great headset for the money if you can turn a blind eye to the cosmetic damage
headset works great mic has alittle feedback when touched but nothing major or heard by others. pretty significant signs of wear, plastic on mine is well worn in that’s for sure. pretty good if you just need a temporary fix
