    Old Penn Station

    I purchased this book because I wanted to see how big Penn Station was. It is bigger than I thought. A book was written called "Death in 60 Days- Who silenced Booker T. Washington". The author reference the fact that while Booker T. Washington was in a New York Hospital he was told he only had a few hours to live. He wanted to start at once going back to Tuskegee. He refused to use the wheelchair when he got to the Penn Station and walked to his seat in the train. Considering that this building was a massive structure, from your book I learned that Booker T. Washington would have had to do a lot of walking because above ground they had restaurants, barbershops and waiting rooms. Booker T. Washington, supposedly a dying man, would have had to do a lot of walking to even get on a ...

    fine

    I did not reaalize this was a young adult book. Only half of the interior was addrssed, the Main Waiting room with its classic design was left out. However the author did an excellent job with the train Concorse with its steel and glass construction.
