The definitively violent Mortal Kombat fighting game series is re-invented on high-definition consoles in its ninth full production, a plainly titled release that both moves the supernatural combat action forward and returns it to its roots. Rendered in full 3D, the hand-to-hand battles play out strictly on a 2D plane, as in the original Mortal Kombat games for 16-bit consoles, emphasizing keenly timed blocks, counter-moves, and ranged attacks. More so than in any recent Mortal Kombat game, the fighting action is designed for true hardcore players, with each character presenting a deep system of special attacks to master and relative weaknesses to overcome. Each character can also execute a full-fledged fatality move, in classic MK form.<br><br>Leaving aside the inter-dimensional diversions of the most recent Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, the game's unusually involving single-player story begins after the events of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, but then returns to the events of the first three games to revisit the series' original lore. Gaining a trans-temporal awareness, the enigmatic thunder-god Raiden is central to the plot, but gamers take the roles of several different combatants as they progress through the campaign. In all, over two-dozen characters are playable in this edition of Mortal Kombat, each uniquely modeled and individually animated. Multiplayer fighting is thoroughly supported, in both same-console and online options, with a selection of competitive and cooperative modes.<br><br>The "Tournament Edition" includes the game, an exclusive in-game "Retro-Ninja" costume, and a custom fight stick designed to mimic the look and feel of early '90s arcade cabinets. The controller features a bat-shaped joystick, concave buttons, a latched top for access to storage space, and a memory foam base for comfortable knee-top play.

    Great stick for MK diehard fans. OK for improving your skills

    The Tournament Mortal Kombat stick is a great accessory to get if your looking for old school arcade stuff.People who wants to improve their fighting game skills should get one it works perfect with the mortal Kombat control settings. (a little bit less effective on Street Fighter though.) This controller really reflects what was the real thing in the 90s on 1st MK. arcade cabs. The feeling is totally different than the SF Tournament Stick. it's a bat stick, stiffer than the SF one and buttons are concave and a bit less responsive than the Sanwa parts you get in the TE Stick. I personnally prefer SF stick in terms of "I play to become better thing" but MK stick is still awesome and in MK it's better than TE stick especially for that game. FATALITY LIVES!

    Worth the buy! Great Product. Entertainment value is over 9,000!

    Quite an amazing product. The Fightstick is fun to use and is top quality. It even opens up so you can store your game and cable. The Tournament Version comes with the Mortal Kombat game, along with a few Download Content. Such a good bargain. If you're able to find this NEW, it's worth the $100+. I believe it shouldn't be any more than $150. If you're just interested in just the Fightstick, then try pre-ordering the Mortal Kombat "Klassic Fight Stick" which comes out in the end of August, and comes with Downloadable old Mortal Kombat "Klassics". The Klassic one does not open up like the Tournament edition, mind you. But still is a good "klassic" to buy. I give it 10 stars out of 5.

    Excellent arcade controller

    Feels just like the old arcade controller! The joystick has great feedback and the buttons are crisp, not mushy feeling. The foam pad on the bottom makes it very comfortable to have on your lap while playing. The storage area is a nice touch, it keeps that long usb cable from being lost.

    glad to have one... if you can have it... than get it!

    i am happy that i could buy in sealed version of this item. it has an arcade stick and the game in it... and its rare like hell. if you can get it... than do it. there is nor better way to celebrate mortal kombat...
