great lens and great value for the quality of the components.
I own a Panasonic Lumix FZ-150 and this macro lens fits perfect in the tube adapter for this particular camera. It's Japan made, well built, comes with protective caps on both sides of the lens. The "snap-on" universal adapter works very well and engages firmly and safely on the lens barrel or tube adapter. The quality of the glasses is superb. I couldn't see any noticeable distortions on the image caused by poor quality optics. The narrow deep of field issues are the same that you will have on any similar macro lens (there are no magic tricks to solve this optical restriction). The lens and the external ring comes separated one from the other (you have to screw the lens on the ring adapter to use it), and then after the job, if you want to keep the lens ... I think RAYNOX should include a third cap to fit on the internal or back side of the ring adapter in order to protect the lens while being attached to the ring without the need of screw and unscrew it every time you use it: It's ironic that you can quickly snap-on the ring on the camera but you have to screw and unscrew the lens on and off the ring adapter if you want to keep it protected from scratches when traveling or storing it. Because of the short (restricted) diameter of the lens respect of the most common (bigger) camera objective diameters you will have vignetting at great apertures (or at low zooming settings, depending on the camera) but for macro photography purposes when you have severe compromises with deep of field (almost never you will work at full apertures) this is not a big issue at all. I think maybe RAYNOX do this (short lens diameter) in order to keep the weight (and therefore the cost) of the glasses on the safe side, and to reduce the variety of models to fit every camera objective diameter (again is a matter of costs). The product comes also with a plastic case to put the lens and the ring adapter, and again, shoud be great to have a way to preserve and travel with the lens in one single piece (permanently protected while being screwed in to the ring adapter).

Must have patience with this amazing lens and love macro photography!
Being new to macro photography, I bought this lens from positive reviews I found on line. It is a great lens for the money, but you will have to have a lot of patience to use it. I am still trying to figure out the best settings on my Canon SX40 HS in order to use this lens. Only buy this lens if you love to capture insects and other small creatures and it is helpful if they are not moving when you try to photo them! You have to try and find the sharpest focus by moving the camera forward and back ever so slightly. But when I get it just right I get an amazing, incredible close-up! I am going to keep trying and I do like this lens. It clips right onto your camera which is also a nice feature. Buy and enjoy if you are patient! I loved it! If u cant buy a DLSR with macro lens 100x or 150x, try this one
I have a Canon SX30 IS, and i'm work with insects, i'm biologist, and got a nice pictures of these small creatures is very very hard, without good camera and macro lens, but thats expensive and i can't afford... So my option was use a regular camera and try a close-up lens, but thats close-ups are very bad quality and didn't a nice result. But thats Raynox are amazing, the photos were great! clean, bright and nice focus... Yes Raynox are most expensive of all close-up filters, but i'ts better quality too! My only problem was with my camera, to do focus manually, i preffer manual focus like a DLSR cams, but what i can do? right? mine are just regular camera. High quality, versatile lense
I bought this recently and use it with my Sony Nex-5n. Main benefit is that this thing is versatile, it allows to convert virtually any tele-lens in macro-lens, without decreasing of max apperture(what happens when you use extenders). Raynox quality is outstanding, lens are multicoated, I didn't have any glares, nor found decrease of quality of picture, any blur etc... It has amazing resolution of >400 lines/mm. At same time it is compact and light, so you can always have it in your photobag and use with almost any lenses (filter size must be 52-67mm, however I am able to use it even with 49mm, and with special ring you can fit it even on your smaller lenses). It is not replacement for serious macro lenses, but it is very versatile thing of high quality which is always near ... I bought this recently and use it with my Sony Nex-5n. In my opinion, best results can be obtained if use with mid-telephoto lenses with small minimum distance of focusing. For more close up (1/1 and more) you have to use macro lense, or add extending tubes, or use reversive rings etc. But for quick and easy macro (flowers especialy) this lens is ideal to carry with you. I plan next month to hike in mountains (alt >2000m)for about 10days. I carefully choose what to take with me, because extra weight is not welcome, but whatever lenses I will take, this tiny raynox will be in the bag I am 100% sure.

macro photography on the cheap!!
Must buy before you spend hundreds on a dedicated macro lens!! if you're interested in macro but are frightened by the high prices of dedicated macro lenses, give this little thing a try before you take the plunge. its simple operation and good quality make it a no brainer in my opinion if you haven't tried macro before. it will get you close and give you an idea of what type of composition you'll get with a fraction of the price. another great note is that it will work on any camera within its lens mount rangeMust buy before you spend hundreds on a dedicated macro lens!! if you're interested in macro but are frightened by the high prices of dedicated macro lenses, give this little thing a try before you take the plunge. its simple operation and good quality make it a no brainer in my opinion if you haven't tried macro before. it will get you close and give you an idea of what type of composition you'll get with a fraction of the price. another great note is that it will work on any camera within its lens mount range
