Great if you want free HD and i players
This is my first effort at Freesat. I have been on Sky for years. This box is small and light and was easy to set up. I would like to have had one that could record programmes but that was out of my price range. This came reasonably priced and my main reason for going in this direction was to get the HD channels for free. Also to be able to use BBC and ITV i players without having to watch them on my TV. The only thing that I do not like is the fact that when you have looked at the first page of the TV guide, you can only go downwards one channel at a time. I prefer to be able to change a whole page. Glad I bought this super HD receiver.
I bought this unit after reading the reviews of Freesat boxes. Where I live the Freeview terrestrial service is poor so Freesat was the obvious choice.I have been very pleased with the product and it provides faultless pictures including 5 HD channels with extra things that non-Humax boxes won't get, Including films on demand via the internet connection. Iplayer is also a feature and ITV player is currently in Beta version. The only reason I have not given five stars is that there are some minor cracks in the remote control which chafe my hand when using it. Otherwise a highly recommended product that will not disappoint. This item no longer meets the requirements of the Freesat on demand set-up so I have been forced to replace it with a Freetime Box 1100SI bought this unit after reading the reviews of Freesat boxes. Value for money and does its job if you can live with its querks
Does its job okay but I have the Sagem equivalent of the same box and the software (MMI) is much more user friendly on the latter. Also the audio level on the Humax when switching between Freesat and Freeview differs quite a bit so your eternally adjusting the level. On the Sagem you can adjust the audio level independently on the box and thus equalise between Freesat and Freeview. Accessing the Favourites on the Humax is long and torturous whereas once set up on the Sagem its very easy with one button push. On the plus side its a better and more robust build than the Sagem and little to chose between the picture quality of the two boxesDoes its job okay but I have the Sagem equivalent of the same box and the software (MMI) is much more user friendly on the latter. Awsome Product! Great value for the money !
Best ever Satellite Reciever : Found it quite easy to use - Menu is not complicated - Fast EPG, Quick Channel Search, - better MENU then Sky , and its FREE - also AD(Audio DEscription ) is excellent ,, Highly recommendet! Remote control - is a pleasure to use too :) , Hope they come more HD Channels - free to watch, beccause the picture quality is amazing !!
