Inversion is a third-person shooter with a modern, sci-fi setting, and concussive action that is distinguished by gravity-control powers and destructible environments. In the main campaign, players take the role of an ordinary cop named Davis Russel, who finds himself in extraordinary peril when his city is attacked by an unknown force, armed with futuristic technology. Battles are now waged with weapons that can crush objects, reverse the force of gravity, or remove its effects altogether. The entire story can be played cooperatively, and online multiplayer competition is also available.<br><br>Developed by TimeShift creator, Saber Interactive, the game uses a version of the Havok physics engine to model collisions and destruction in game's vertigo-inducing skyscraper canyons, where rubble from a crumbling building may as likely fall upwards as downs, or hang weightless in mid-air to obstruct passage or provide cover. The game offers plenty of shooter action, but learning to use gravity to attack enemies indirectly, with objects and debris in the environment, may be crucial in major battles. Players will also manipulate gravity to solve puzzles and progress to new areas.

Cartridge works, looks to be in excellent condition. Case was a blank case with a printout cover in it, but this was stated in the description. Had contacted seller with a question and they showed they were knowledgeable on cartridge authenticity, very happy with the overall transaction.

Better than what you may be lead to believe
I was a little concerned with Inversion when I looked at the ratings users were giving it. I really don’t go with the mainstream review community has to say, I would rather see what other like myself who don’t make a living writing reviews think of a game. When Inversion dropped to comfortable price, I decided it was worth the risk to see if this game really was as bad as others were claiming. A few gripes aside, Inversion is a decent 3rd Person/Use Cover type game in the vein of Gears of War that, at the right price, is worth the price tag. Inversion is a good looking game. The world is very detailed and varied. The characters move and look realistic. Overall, I would consider the graphic quality up to par with other games released this far into the current generation. Sound quality is also adequate. The sound effects are nicely done and the music is decent, but not memorable. The voice acting was at points a little weak, but it didn’t really detract me away from any enjoyment. Inversion, from an aesthetic standpoint, gave me few things to complain about. There are a few things that did bother me. The controls, for the most part, were fine. Problems, for me at least, were when trying to utilize the gravity mechanic. There is a slight learning curve and once you get it down, it isn’t too much of a big deal, but I found myself just wanting to use more conventional tactics instead, but that could be more of a personal preference. The pacing of the game was another issue for me. The action seemed to be broken into bits and then a cut scene would interlude to progress the story. This is okay and pretty standard for a game like Inversion, but numerous cut scenes and the small bursts of action sequences drugged the pacing down. Inversion is not a terrible game and I don’t think it deserves the low ratings. The issues I had with the game were more subjective and may not bother somebody else. I didn’t find the game play broken or sloppy as well as I didn’t find the graphics or sound quality to be inferior. Now, compared to Gears of War, Inversion is ultimately a forgettable game, but if you enjoy games like Gears, then for around under $20 dollars or a weekend rental, Inversion will keep your itchy trigger finger happy.
