If you are seeking a desktop computer that is suitable for both business and personal use, the Mac Pro A1289 from Apple is a solid choice. This Apple Mac is a high-performing machine that offers the benefits of speed, efficiency, and connectivity in one system. The large amount of memory built in provides ample storage for documents, software, programs, and more. This MacPro also supports complex graphics for games and video, allowing you to use this computer for entertainment as well as business. The Mac Pro series of desktops from Apple are especially good for business functionality, and they are great for gaming and home use too. The Mac Pro A1289 features an eight-core processor setup that consists of two quad-core Intel Xeon processors that run up to 2.26 GHz each. The Xeon Quad processor is capable of a 2.53 GHz turbo boost for extra speed. It also supports "hyper threading," which lets you run multiple different threads at the same time on each core. This provides incredible speed and efficiency, allowing you to operate multiple functions at once or have multiple tabs open without your computer lagging. The Intel CPU is paired with 6GB of SD DDR3 ECC RAM operating at 1066 MHz and a hard drive consisting of 500GB of HDD memory plus 256GB of SSD memory. You will experience amazing graphics with the AMD Radeon HD 5770 GPU that has a graphics memory of 1GB. The GPU also contributes to speed while preventing video processes from slowing or crashing your computer. The equipped optical drive is an 18x dual-layer Super Drive. The hardware is supported by the Mac OS operating system, which has an efficient interface and a user-friendly feel. This model of Mac also allows for ample connectivity with a number of ports and connections available. There are five USB ports total and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. The designers at Apple have eliminated the Firewire 400 ports and now have four Firewire 800 ports for even faster transfer rates. There are two Mini DisplayPort ports that allow you to connect multiple displays to the tower as well. If you are interested in how you can upgrade this Mac many possibilities exist. There are additional RAM slots, four PCIe slots (one is a free PCIe 2.0 x 16 slot and two are free PCIe 2.0 x 4 slots), and of the four 3.5-inch direct attach drive bays that will support extra memory drives, three are free by default. El portátil cumplió mi expectativa de uso. Amplié la RAM y el disco SSD a NVMe Samsung, El Thinkpad P43s es ideal para estudiar y crear contenido multimedia. Excepto un detalle. El puerto de carga USB-C se afloja debido al continuo uso durante todo el ciclo de vida útil que tuvo esta PC. Usaré el dock y el cargador original de Lenovo para completar el equipo.     It is meanly a dedicated upgrade for Photoshop performance.

    I'm running some Photoshop filters on a large 900+ MB Tiff file and it appears to be performing all tasks in memory and not with the scratch disk. The wait time seems to be cut down considerably. Photoshop CS6 is 64bit compatible and my 2009 Mac Pro installation is set up to allocate 10.5 GBs out of 16 GBs of memory to Photoshop. More memory does seem to help. I had 8BS of RAM on the 2006 Mac Pro but, Photoshop running in 32 but mode would would not allocate more than (roughly) 3.5 GBs of RAM, thus my performance with large files was reduced to scratch disc read and right speeds. So, stepping up to the 2009 Mac Pro is not providing a faster overall user experience over the 2006. It is meanly a dedicated upgrade for Photoshop performance and Mac OS X compatibility beyond Lion.     Great Upgrade

    This machine has all I need at a price I can afford. Lots of RAM & HD space, a Superdrive plus a BlueRay drive allows for lots of possibilities. For the first time in years I have access to the latest Mac OS. Now to embark on the path towards upgrading my abilities!

    If you don't need high speed thunderbolt or usb 3, this is a great computer

    I have customized this with a firmware upgrade and processor upgrade. It is essentially a 6 core 2010 Mac Pro now. After running both Geekbench tests as well as real world 4k video rendering, I've found this computer to perform the same as the 2013 quad core Mac Pro which I have run through the same tests. This is much more customizable than a current 2013 Mac Pro however it does not have USB 3 built in or Thunderbolt. Also the 2013 model runs much quieter and is easier to take with you. Otherwise the performance of this computer and internal expandability with 4 drive bays, PCIe slots and 2 optical drive bays, can't be matched in any current Mac.

    This machine has the power and capability of almost any task.

    First and foremost, it was time for me to upgrade. As a Designer, I needed to keep up the pace and needed something faster for work output and process. I've been with the Mac side of OS for awhile and decided to stay with it for an upgrade. My budget allowed for this 2009 Mac Pro with a Quad Core 2.66GHz processor. I knew it would provide me with more power, but I was surprised of what it could do once it was in my possession. I bought it with some minor customizations with it, but have went further with some custom features, such as a GTX 570 graphics card and 16GB RAM, and that has given it a significant boost in power. With these extras, tasks such as rendering and editing conclude in a minimal amount of time. Booting and App startup times are significantly faster. For instance, my old ...
