The "2011" edition of EA Sports' FIFA Soccer presents a multifaceted virtual experience of playing the world's most popular sport. Although built upon the same basic game-engine foundation and featuring the play systems developed over many years of top-selling soccer releases, the game's interface has been updated and key elements have been refined for more balanced action on the pitch. In particular, goalie artificial intelligence is enhanced, for more responsive, perceptive, computer-controlled keepers. In the PS3 version of FIFA 11, gamers also have the option to take control themselves and play as the goalkeeper. Refinements have been made to improve heading and crossing plays, as well, and the game also introduces a "360-degree dribbling" feature, which allows a ball carrier and defender to move around one another as they fight for the ball, creating a more up-close and immediate experience of one-on-one battles for control. <br><br>Using extensive statistics from performances in actual matches, the game's "Personality+" features apply ratings of dozens of real-world player attributes and traits to their in-game counterparts. In any position, new aspects of player and team customization are prominent in all versions of the game. In the new Creation Center mode, gamers can customize a wide array of team features, including player assignments and positioning as well as team uniforms, colors, music, and chants. When a goal is scored, in-game celebrations take place right on the field of play, instead of in pre-rendered cut-away scenes. As in earlier editions, FIFA 11 includes representations of hundreds of real-life pro players and teams from various minor and major leagues around the world. The game's revamped career mode allows the gamer to take the role of a player or manager (or both), to lead the team through as many as 15 full seasons of club play, with the chance to participate in worldwide competition every four years.

    Fifa Players Review

    I have played just about every Fifa Game that has ever been made. And this Fifa 2011 is rated as ok, and not as great. It is step up from Fifa 2010 with graphics that are just little bit better, but the basic gaming of the characters is basically the same. The only difference I saw in the new game is that now in career mode you don't go by a point system, where you can up your character by addimg points to his stats, but rather by how well you play in a game. Also in career mode you actually compete against other players for the starting role, so if you don't play good in a game .. Guess what you have to sit out about three games, which I found to be boring due to that I like to play every game in the season. But if you have the patience and are hardcore fan this should be the game ...

    Let’s blame the World Cup hangover because there’s just something about FIFA 11 that fails to spark our passion in the same way as last year’s sublime effort. It seems as though the team at EA Canada has decided this year’s version is all about refinement, developing the ideas that the team first introduced back in FIFA 08, tidying up its rough edges and holding back on anything perhaps considered a little too drastic. There’s no denying FIFA 11 clearly makes improvements over last year’s version and as such plays a better game of football, it’s just the fact that it all seems a little underwhelming with marginal behind the scenes improvements on the pitch and severe reduction in the condensed assortment of modes on offer. 360 Fight for Possession is such an addition, a welcome dynamic ...

    One of the best Fifas yet

    I love the realism when coming into the game. With the Pro camera angle you really feel like your that player. Also, the personality that each player has, and 360 fighting just causes for an all around intense game. I have been playing Fifa since '06 and wow this game is really going to escalate throughtout the years. I can't wait for Fifa 12! I would mention the cons, but not worth I love the game to much to do that.

    Excellent improvements from FIFA 09!!

    Overall improvements from FIFA 09 are noticeable the moment you start the game. 360 control is great, and makes the game even more difficult, even though there are known real football players which run faster in real matches, but in FIFA 11 they are easily caught by the defense. Another let down from FIFA 09, on career mode they removed the "send scouting" to buy new players, that makes buying new players for teams in smaller leagues.
