  • A versitile and sturdy tripod for a reasonable price--a good value!

I was in the market for a versatile tripod which I would be using with my Nikon D3300. After several weeks of hard use, it has held up well. I'd say it's best features are--it's sturdy and feels like a quality piece. It is quick and easy to adjust. It has a quick detach base plate which you screw on to your camera so you can quickly attach/detach your camera with a flip of the cam lever, and lastly it comes with a nice carry bag. Overall I'm pleased with it. It's nice and sturdy enough for most any camera under 3-4 pounds and is inexpensive enough to throw it in the trunk so you're always ready for that shot. Recommended.

  • Good budget value but quality is lacking.

Pros: Lightweight and compact for easy storage in the car and attaching to a backpack while hiking. I love the ball head which is simple to use and easy to adjust and usually only available on more expensive tripods. The center shaft is removable so you can turn the camera upside down and take "worm's eye view" shots. Overall it is a good value. Cons: Quality/durability isn't all that great. The first time I used it one of the leg knobs broke. Upon further inspection I found the internal components that fell out were very cheap plastic. It took Dolica over a month to send me a replacement leg. I had to call and email a half dozen times before receiving it. They kept promising to send it, it wouldn't arrive as promised, and I would have to call or email again over and over again. ...

  • feature rich tripod!,

It is made out of aluminum. Light enough to carry around the whole day yet still very sturdy. The aluminum ball head actually performs well. Once you've got the desired angle and lock it in place, the camera will stay on that angle until you release the lock unlike my 20 usd tripod. Im using a d80 with 18-270mm lens attached. That's about 1.2kg weight. The tripod is rated by the manufacturer to handle up to 13 lbs of equipment. Other features are a quick release plate, 2 bubble levels ( one on the head and the other on the legs), user replaceable aluminum tripod head, a threaded weight hook and spiked feet. The tripod can also converted so you can take macro shots. The legs can be locked in position independent of one another. With all these features plus great performance, this tripod is ...

  • May be more than tripod.

DA WHY? I just (and I mean just) got into videography. I saw online that a guy figured out how to use his tripod for video stabilization (Wait to I finish before you say "DUH"). He was using a similar tripod to Dolica to do moving or floating shots (he's moving with the camera, no shaky cam). Of course some people experiences may vary I using it with Sony A6000 with manual lens with no to little camera stabilization. Having the legs independent of each other allow me to use one leg for leverage on my shoulder or under my arm and hand hold the other legs. Pro: If you are on a budget like I am then this a quick and affordable way to help with the shaky cam issue. Plus you get a tripod for those times you do need to take pictures. Con: None FYI: Nothing against Dolica they made great ...

  • It is outstanding for a tripod under $100 and could possibly go for more

I was and still am very surprised and satisfied with how nice this tripod is. For a sub $100, it far exceeds any of my expectations. The Legs are sturdy and made of good quality aluminum, not the cheap grade that many of the sub $100 tripods use. The ball head is very fluid and when tightened even moderately insures NO MOVEMENT what so ever of your camera, I even placed a heavy nikon D1 with 2 pound piece of glass on and it didnt budge in the slightest. My only issue was that when i recieved mine the legs were REALLY tightened down and hard to fold open, the included allen wrench (hex key) was really cheap and wasnt able to loosen the bolts. However once i got them loosened up they fold and close very smoothly with little effot. The safety switch on the quick release is such a nice ...
