The Panasonic SDR-H85K is a compact camcorder with a 33mm wide-angle, 78x ultra zoom and more!The Enhanced Optical 78x Zoom has been added to the compact body of the easy-to-carry camcorder. By taking maximum advantage of the effective CCD area, the camera makes it easy to capture a wide range of dynamic images, from sweeping landscapes with the 33mm wide-angle scope to close-ups of distant subjects with the 78x zoom, without having to worry about image degradation. However, with long-distance zoom shots, even a tiny bit of hand-shake has a huge effect on picture quality. That's where Advanced O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) comes in. It shifts a corrective lens as you shoot to help eliminate the effects of hand-shake, so you get clear, sharp shots even at high zoom levels. It's an essential feature for getting the most out of this incredible zoom lens.The 33mm wide-angle setting on the Standard Series fits more people and more of the background into the frame than a conventional model. This is especially handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room. It fits your subjects in even when you shoot from up close, and makes it possible to pick up even small sounds with the microphone.This powerful function senses the shooting conditions and automatically makes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results. With both motion and still images, iA does the bothersome settings for you and makes it easy to capture beautiful, well-focused images.AF/AE Tracking optimizes the focus and exposure for a selected subject to ensure beautiful results. After you "lock on" to a subject at the center of the screen by pressing the AF/AE button, the camera follows it around, keeping it in sharp focus and properly exposed.

    Fantastic buy, does everything I need and than some .

    Amazing standard definition video recorder. This unit has 80 GB of internal storage, with a capacity to use SD--SDHC--SDXC cards from 1GB thru 64GB. Take pictures, or shoot video, or make stills of video you have taken. Easy to load to my HP laptop, than easy to burn a DVD to share the captured memories. Not being a real techie, I can still manage this device. Anyone can enjoy this video camera. Very light with memory cards and extra batteries readily available.

    Great zoom , super compact , easy to use BEST BUY !!!! Five stars

    First of all the camcorder is ultra light and small, it fits in the palm of your hand. Out of the box programming and setting up is super easy , you just follow the manual which is very simple to do. All the bottons are very conveniently located. The quality of the recordings is excellent , for a novice user like me. Great zooming capability , beautiful colors and image quality. I had other camcorders previous to this one , one Panasonic and one JVC , and the truth is I never expected this camcorder to be so user friendly .

    Good Camcorder for everyday use!

    We originally purchased this camera to document and film company events and trainings. While it is small in the hand and somewhat delicate to handle, it works very well. We have especially enjoyed the on-board Hard drive. That has been very convenient as many times we have found ourselves using other camcorders and without a backup storage just in case we fill the SD card that came in the camera. This is a great feature.

    A good buy, easy to use

    A very good camcorder, easy to operate. I was hoping for HD quality, but the video is still good. The self-contained hard drive is great, and a video card, not included with this purchase, may be used also.

    Panasonic handheld camcorder on auction

    I received the camcorder in the mail today on the 8th of July 10 o'clock a.m. open the package camcorder was missing SD card had no lens cover was in general terrible condition did not work out at all when plugged into the wall very dissatisfied with the product in general never mentioned anything about it not working very angry
