Product Information

Star Ocean: Second Evolution tells the tale of two unlikely heroes, from two different worlds, whose adventuresome encounters with demons, ancient sorcery, and science fiction temper the fate of the known universe. As Star Ocean: First Departure remade the original Japanese Star Ocean game for PlayStation Portable, Second Evolution is a complete PSP-rebuild of Star Ocean: The Second Story, Enix's first North American release for the original PlayStation console. Beginning 20 years after the incidents of the first game, the son of a hero is mysteriously transported to a planet of magic, where he assumes the hopes of an ancient prophecy to bring Light to the land. The classically styled RPG is still played mostly from a third-person isometric perspective, but now features sharper graphics, animated movies, new character designs, voiced dialogue, and a widescreen presentation custom-made for the PSP screen. Built on the same engine that runs First Departure, the game's control scheme is also custom-designed for PSP.

I received my record very quickly I live in Canada it was shipped in Canada only took three or four days it was in a thick cardboard mailer even though the record was brand new still wrapped it was placed in an outer sleeve as well for added protection very happy with the purchase very happy with how it was shipped would definitely purchase from this individual again thank you

    An incredible RPG.

    For anyone who likes RPGs, I highly recommend this game. This is the sequel to Star Ocean: First Departure which is also available on the PSP, but it doesn't require you to have played the first one, as the story completely stands on it's own, with only a few references to the previous game. The gameplay and story are extremely good, and definitely stands out among other RPGs, especially for the PSP. The gameplay is similar to the previous game and uses the same real-time system. This game is actually a remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story which was originally released on the PlayStation. The changes include fully voiced dialog, an additional character, and an updated script. These things make an already great game one that even more people can enjoy.     Like JRPGs? You DEFINITELY don't want to miss out on this one!

    I've played this game several times when it was first released for the ps1. I wanted to try this one out too. I didn't like the new character arts and most character new voiceovers (I preferred the old ones I was used to). I do like the added animations which the ps version didn't have. It's also nice to have one extra character added, even though s/he is pretty much piece of crap. Also the animators have been a bit lazy as in dialogues where you can see the character's picture, they just flip the same picture i.e. Rena's moon on her hair switch sides making it look like she has moon both sides of her head. Also the name switching in towns, items etc is tad annoying to old schoolers. They've also fixed the Dream Bracelet glitch, pity.... It's nice to have this game redone for the psp, ...

    One of the best RPG's on PSP!!

    If you love RPG's then the Star Ocean titles are for you! Both games are tons of fun and you can't go wrong. You will have a ball playing the game, meeting tons of interesting characters along the journey and the script is very unique. This series is the best BY FAR on the PSP RPG genre. Star Ocean offers hours and hours of game play and is also very replayable due to the different endings depending on the choices that you make during the game. BUY IT NOW and have some fun!

    Works good and am satisfied so far.

    Works fine and is in good condition. The only gripe, is every once in awhile while playing the game, it automatically asks if I want to quit the game. Don't know if it's the UMD or my psp. Will need to check out other games to see. Will update when I do.

    Wonderful Original PS RPG

    This is one of the most classic games I have grown up with. It is a great basis of an RPG and has very special traits of it's own compared to other types of games. I find it to be an everlasting game that I will not forget and look forward to others giving it a shot, if they enjoy classic RPGs. Thanks,
