À propos de ce produit

Product Information

As the young angel Pit, you battle the forces of evil and save the goddess Palutena in "Kid Icarus" for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Produced by Gunpei Yokoi, the video game legend who developed many of Nintendo's earliest successes, this is one of the great classic Nintendo games of the 8-bit era. This 1987 NES version of "Kid Icarus," released to Europe and North America, has a password system that prompts you for "sacred words" so that you pick up where you left off at any time. The story is inspired by the Greco-Roman legend of Icarus and is set in a kingdom called Angel Land where man and gods coexisted peacefully until the evil goddess Medusa began turning humans to stone. The goddess of light, Palutena, banished Medusa to the underworld, but the evil goddess raised an army of monsters and fought back, imprisoning Palutena in the Palace in the Sky. Now, Palutena's only hope is Pit, a young angel who cannot fly. You must guide Pit and use his magic bow with unlimited arrows to reclaim the Three Sacred Treasures, defeat the evil Medusa, and restore Palutena's light to the world. Gameplay is varied and challenging with levels spread over four worlds, each ending with a boss battle. Role-playing as well as adventure elements, such as building your stats, visiting shops, and exploring mazes, blend well with the main action platform-play style. As Pit battles the monsters through the game's levels, objects he comes across include power items like the guard crystal and flaming arrows that give the hero more power and advantages. The final stage switches things up a bit, offering an auto-scrolling shooter challenge with Pit finally able to fly. The video game's music covers several genres, making for varied accompaniment to the game action. The original Nintendo "Kid Icarus" kicked off a long-running series with titles on the Game Boy, subtitled "Of Myths and Monsters," the 3DS as "Kid Icarus Uprising," and Pit's appearance as a playable character in the Super Smash Bros series. If you haven't played the original that started it all, you owe it to yourself to check out this classic platformer. This was one of the first video games to offer a New Game + mode: Beating the game allows you to restart from the beginning with the power-ups from your first play-through. This helps you collect all five different endings and provides tons of replay value. This game is appropriate for all ages of gamers, allowing you to introduce a whole new generation to this classic Nintendo video game.Like many early Nintendo games, "Kid Icarus" is a fun challenge with arcade-style platform play. The game deserves its spot as one of the great Nintendo classics for its engaging stage design, compelling music, and fun characters based on classic myths.

  • Awesome game!

Back in the day I traded my TMNT game for Kid Icarus. I beat it in one night without a single death. I’ve never even come close to doing that since but anyone who says their son can beat any game but this one is too hard is just crazy and their kid isn’t as good at games. The game is simple. Not getting hit is more important than getting a stupid heart. Cheats are NOT necessary. Great game but.. the controls are a LITTLE strict compared to SMB 1

  • Kid Icarus, greatest game ever

Anyone who hasn’t played this game, needs to challenge themselves. 3 amazing worlds, 3 intricate (and aggravating) dungeons/castles. Great side games and power ups.

  • Could have been an NES great with better internal game aid.

Great game, if it wasn't so frustrating. My son, who can win any game out there was almost in tears with this game. They make it almost impossible to win without getting cheats. My son hates to use cheats because he feels he didn't earn the win. He loved the acutal game set-up and action as do most of the game's afficionados, but when they don't let the character back inside of shops or lead him into empty ones that cause his death when he returns to the world, it makes an exceedingly difficult game impossible. You can be the best gamer in the world, but won't get rewarded for it until you are pretty far into the game when most people would have given up. You finally get extra lives long after you have thrown your NES across the room and well past the point that a ...
