  • Saved my life

Fifteen years later my life is better than I could have ever imagined. The information in this book works for any alcoholic/drug addict who has the CAPACITY to be honest. The stats, I hear, are 1 out 22 will do what the book says to do. The other 21 will not and will not stay sober. This is a book that shows you a path to a selfless, giving and caring life. If one trys to follow the path, that is the one that will make it. It really helps to have someone help in understanding this book. They are called sponsors and can help the reader/student to become the next sponsor/teacher. That's how it works. It is ment to be studied and practiced for life, not just a book to read. It is the most important book in the world to an alcoholic/drug addict. In most cases they is no other way ...

  • A GREAT BOOK IF NOT TAKEN 100% LITERALLY

This was written in the late 1930s yet it continues to be one of the best-selling books of all time. Unfortunately most copies are never read, but put on a shelf somewhere to gather dust. It chronicles what happened in the early years of Alcoholics Anonymous which were later referred to by the co-founders of AA as "our flying blind years". The principles it sets down which are summarized in AA's 12 Steps are flexible and timeless and can be applied cross-culturally and by anyone whether they be Catholic, Protestant, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, atheist or agnostic. To me it's more of an historical document than a book of directions. Bill Wilson wrote an article for the AA Grapevine in 1954 explaining how the 12 Steps came to be in the form they are today. For the four years ...

  • There is asolution.

This is the basic textbook of Alcoholics Anonymous. The first 164 pages lay out new plan of living and guide alcoholics through the 12 steps to a spiritual awakening and a way of life that is full and complete without the use o alcohol. The message is simple; we never have to take another drink of alcohol to lead a full and rewarding life. Millions of sufferers around the world have recovered from a seemingly hopeless condition. The book is well written and easy to understand. It ia best use in conjunction with attendance of AA meetings but the message it delivers can benefit anyone.

  • HAPPY,JOYOUS AND FREE

AFTER 20 YEARS OF LIVING IN A SEEMINGLY HOPELESS AND HELPLESS STATE OF MIND. I WAS OFFERED A DESIGN FOR LIVING THAT WORKS WHEN I WORK IT. I TRY ON A REGULAR BASIS TO GAIN AS MUCH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MY LIFE LONG DISEASE. THE PROGRAM WHEN WORKED HONESTLY SECURES MY RECOVERY AND THE PROTECTION OF THE GIFT WE ALCOHOLICS RECEIVE FROM OUR HIGHER POWER AND OR GOD AS WE UNDERSTAND HIM. I GET SOME OF THE MATERIALS BECAUSE I'M INTERESTED IN THE FELLOWSHIP FROM JUNE 10th,1935 UNTIL NOW. I GET SOME OF IT TO SHOW SOME REAL SMART KNOW IT ALL NEW COMERS THAT THIS PROGRAM HAS SAVED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE LIKE ME THE SAME WAY FOR THE LAST 72 YEARS AND DOESN'T NEED THEM TO CHANGE IT.I OWE EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE TO THE PROGRAM AND FOR THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE TO GIVE IT TO THE NEXT PERSON THAT WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR. ...

  • If you want it, you can have it!

In my opinion, one of the greatest things about this book and the AA program is that it is always available. For people like myself that have been in and out of the program until I finally "got it", it was always good to know it was available to me when I wanted it enough. Get a sponsor that you can't "push around", follow the twelve simple steps and go out and help others that want it and need it. I bought this book partly to fill gaps in my collection and partly to have available to give to someone that can't afford one. If you want to be clean and sober and have some hope, get one and read it. It's for everyone. Good luck and best wishes.
