I haven't read novels [in the past ten years] except for all of the Patrick O'Brian series. It was, unfortunately, like tripping on heroin. I started on those books and couldn't stop.

These CDs of Shoenberg's Gurrelieder plays beautifully, so far. However: it came without the booklet about Gurrelieder itself, and not even a German-English libretto. (I tried to find one online, but – to no avail.) The CDs should have included both – or, at least, the booklet; room were made. I received only the two CDs (at least I'm listening to the second one now).

    The Hundred Days by Patrick O'Brian (1998)

    Carries on with another wonderful tale of Aubrey. The story is engaging and compelling so there is no true disappointment with this book. This one is not as crisp as earlier books and adds nothing to the human evolution of the characters. Maturin in grief does not have the ring of truth past novels have consistently brought to the table.
