    Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman DVD Set 2003 Season 1-Complete

    As with the television series, "Road to Avonlea", my family and I also enjoyed this series. It was full of awesome characters and original stories usually with strong plots. The first season focuses on the culture shock that "Dr. Mike" faces being so far from home in a primitive location. Especially where women are only thought of as commodities. She must learn to gain respect of the locals and also the Native Americans, of which they come to accept her more quickly. She befriends a wilderness man called "Sully" who at first doesn't give her the time of day, but he's there in a pinch when he is needed. What I don't like in the series is sometimes, there's some strong language which makes it not so "family friendly". I personally think a lot of that could have been left out. But all the ...

    Wonderful down-to-earth series!

    I love this season one collection of Dr. Quinn. I used to watch the series religiously when it was on the air, and find the first couple of seasons especially heartwarming. Dr. Quinn is so passionate about her work, her character really is an inspiration. Wonderfully set in the nineteenth century West, this is a down-to-earth series that's perfect for the whole family. It has everything: "G" rated romance, adventure, and drama. Also has historic value as the show masterfully integrates historical events and actual people into the story, such as General Custer. If you have never seen Dr. Quinn, you really should check it out! I plan to buy the second season DVD set in the near future.

    Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman - All 6 Seasons

    My wife and I had not even met yet when the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, was running on TV. My wife watched it religiously, while I only watched it sporadically. We own our own semi truck and haul farm equipment all over the midwest. Our sleeper has a 17" flat screen TV w/DVD player. So far, we have watched the entire 1st and 2nd seasons and are almost through the 3rd season. We are enjoying watching them together, almost every night, after parking at a truck stop. We have our supper, do our paper work for that day and then crawl into bed and turn on Dr. Quinn to end our evening. The show is so realistic, it's just like living in Colorado Springs with them. We LOVE it.

    Dr Quinn Medicine Woman Complete Season 1

    I very much enjoy this series. It is one that I can have on with my children in the room. It is different than so many of the sitcoms and series that are on right now. I may not agree with some of the main characters' views but I still think that it is a very descent show with no swearing, sex and even the violence is very mild especially considering what times really were like back then. The only reason I gave this a good rating in stead of excellent is because I wish the DVDs had more special features on it; deleted scenes, etc. But I think that the acting is good, the setting is good and it is just a fun old fashioned show. I want to get the other seasons and hopefully will eventually.

    In my opinion, one of the best TV Shows out there!

    Dr. Quinn, is a classic story of a modern woman, struggling to survive in the rugged world of Colorado Springs, in the late 1860's. She comes from a privileged family in Boston, to the rugged frontiere, as a doctor, and is not prepared for the events that lie in wait for her. She learns to grow through her pains,accepting that the towns people do not accept a woman doctor, learning to love the children that were unexpectedly thrust upon her by a dear friend on her death bed, meeting indians, and trying to not have feelings for the ruggedly handsome and lonely mountain man,Sully! A must see for the whole family!
