This is a good phone, APP Market sucks!!
The Nokia Lumia 900, Works great for me never had a problem. I have always used Nokia branded phones, I have my Nokia Unlocked using it with Straight Talk, MMS, DATA works great. The Lumia has good call quality of any smartphone on the market, After trying the iPhone 5 for a few days and hated I took it to back to AT&T and got the Nokia Lumia 900. the iPhone 5 fails in comparison to the Lumia 900. One draw back is the horrible app market, the app market has very few apps and it's really annoying not being able to have the APPS Android and iPhone get, Someone needs to work a deal out with Instagram, Facebook, Google, Apple or some other large company to upgrade the APP world. Windows if you had larger APP world windows would take this by storm.The Nokia Lumia 900, Works great for me never had a problem. great phone for those that dare to be different
My familiarity with Smartphones, i think is well above average. I've owned everything from Palm to Nokia S40-60 to IPhones(all versions) to several android variants, and previous windows phone variants pre and post 7.0. Each platform has its strengths and weaknesses. I bought this phone because i enjoy new tech. The best thing about the phone is the viewing outdoors. i think this is really what makes or breaks the phone. overall it works well. No noticeable lag based on the current windows phone spec. The social networking integration works pretty well too. The live tiles are pretty much the only form of multitasking on the phone. once you leave a program it will freeze in its current state until you come back to it. This can be a pain if you intend to download the complete 2gb map set. Bluetooth audio streaming works well and the reliability of the connection is pretty stellar throughout the 30foot range, and it even extends longer in ideal situations. I use it with my Plantronics Voyager Pro HD headset, and the talk and audio playback work very well. Compared to the Samsung Bluetooth on the captivate, focus, and skyrocket....it's connection consistency is much better. game play, especially the xbox live titles is flawless. The ability to try all the paid apps without advertisements sets this platform apart from the others. The rear shooter on this phone takes great pictures, but it's default settings somewhat over-saturate the colors, though it does look very nice, it is something i noticed in comparing shots between a skyrocket, iphone 4s, and this phone. the front camera is functional. it is not the best and does not do a great job compensating for low light situations(the iphone does a good job here). The email function of this phone is one of the best parts of the windows phone OS, topped only by the blackberry email platform especially that of the blackberry os7. GPS performance is pretty spot on, i usually get satellite locks in 10sec or less. The internet browser works well, it's much nicer than the safari and blackberry browsers. However i do miss the dolphin browser and Opera Browsers that are available on the other platforms. Once developer support picks up, i think this phone would be a serious contender to the iphone as a great consumer friendly smart phone.

For the last 11 years, I've owned/used Nokia cell phones and had no complaints until now. I am very disappointed in the Nokia Lumia 900. Most of the features that were on other phones are altogether gone with this supposedly sophisticated smartphone. For starters, the battery life is HORRIBLE. I've followed all the recommendations for preserving the battery life. I have no tasks running in the background. I've set my email for manual sync and I don't sync it often. I've removed my settings for Facebook. I would remove my Windows live informaation, too, but I won't have any contacts on my phone if I do that. I've set the screen time-out for 1 minute, turned off bluetooth, turned the brightness to low, and turn off Wi-fi when not in use. The reason for me getting a new phone was because the ... For this to be a Windows Phone, you'd expect to be able to do alot of the same functions in the Microsoft Windows operating system. Guess again! Simple things such as placing the cursor in between letters in a work gets somewhat challenging. Selecting a range of text is not as easy as it was in other models. You have to select one word then drag the arrows on the ends to the beginning and end of everything you want to select. Cutting and pasting is not so clear cut. If you want to cut and paste, you have to select your text, copy it, then cut it and paste it where you want it to go. Closing certain apps is a pain in the you know what! There is no option to just simply exit your music/radio that came pre-installed on the phone. You have to pause it and keep pressing back until you come out of it. Does that really close it? Let's see, to close a door that keeps swinging open, you must actually close it for it to stay closed. If you just keep the door steady in it's current position, is it considered closed? No. It's still open and just not swinging anymore. Same thing with the music. Pausing the music doesn't close it out. Even though it doesn't show as an open app, I'm sure it also affects your battery life. You also don't have the option to customize alert tones for messages, email, or texts. There are only 2 options for ring settings: ring or vibrate. In other models you had the option of customizing your settings for when you plugged in your headset/bluetooth to choose this setting automatically each time, meetings, outdoors, silent, etc. You also had the option of using songs on your phone as a ringtone or alert tone without size restrictions. You just chose your song and it would play for the amount of rings the phone would have normally rung for (i.e. 4 rings would be about 20 seconds of the beginning of the song). I don't understand why Nokia would have taken away certain features it's always had just because it switched to a different operating system. If anything, they should have kept the features and made them even better. Very disappointed in the overall operation of this phone.

Not a WP8 smartphone, but almost there and a great phone!
By today standard this smartphone maybe is in disadvantage with the competition including the Lumia 920, but still a high end smartphone with the smooth performance of the WP 7.5 - 7.8 even with only 1 CPU core y 512MB of RAM. The quality of the screen is superb the AMOLED screen give a deep color and strong contrast the black color is REALLY black not dark grey like conventional LCD screens. The design it's from the award winning Nokia N9, for some people the Lumia 900 could be a quite heavy and bulky but is not that uncomfortable, it feels very solid and sturdy on the other hand. To operate the WP 7.5 - 7.8 is very simple and intuitive, many social features and decent multimedia, great call quality. The battery life is acceptable, maybe more if you turn off the LTE network. Now not ... Well this smartphone it's a great alternative to other mobile OS, but the WP 8 obviously it's a better choice with a higher price. This one of the best affordable alternative for Android and iOS until the WP8 Nokia Lumia 620 hit the market.

I have always loved Nokia phones and this one does not disappoint. Purchased used because I seem not to have any luck with smartphones. Have lost 3 in two months(lumia 920, BB torch and HTC radar) and got this one last week-it fell and screen shattered yesterday. But while I had it...volume works well. very loud. Movies play well. The size of screen does not require squint or enlarging so much that viewing experience is diminished. At first marketplace did not work but I had to reset my account. What I miss is the ability use phone like USB. I can only upload with Zune. It's taking a long time to update. But if i was stationed for longer, maybe I'd be more tolerant.
