Doesnt fit 1999 Miata NB
I am an aircraft mechanic and work on all my cars, I have replaced many radiators in my other cars. This radiator, contrary to what the seller claims, does not directly fit my Stock 99 Miata. The holes for the fans barely line up, the upper coolant nipple is not straight and angles the hose right into your fan housing so that they rub, the radiator itself is much thicker then the OE radiator which is good for cooling and why I got it, however the added thickness prevents the upper radiator brackets from fitting even remotely. The bracket for the AC lines as well cannot fit unto the radiator mounting. Directly after installing the radiator (which came with many bents fins in the mesh area) I warmed up the car and it begin to overheat and coolant isnt flowing well leading me to believe the ... not a direct fit drop in replacement 3 stars, after modding 5 stars
Just as the previous reviewer had told. The radiator was taller than original and the brackets had to be modified or remade. The studs for the fans were twice as long resulting in the fans sucking air around the radiator not through it. cutting them down, re tapping, and modifying the fans to accommodate miss aligned welds to the pickup points was needed. The air conditioning support bracket had to be remade to a new shape. The upper hose does not clear the fan, you need to either cut the shroud back some or what I did, cut the inlet tube off the radiator and re weld it back on in the correct position. Most of the radiators on ebay seem to have these problems. The radiator is nicely welded out of good material,.If you want a two core all aluminium unit and have a way to modify parts, I ...
