Spider-Man: Friend or Foe is a video game produced by Next Level Games for the Xbox 360 and published by Activision. It was the first Marvel game Next Level Games produced, and the first in a line of more family friendly games Activision published for Marvel. In Friend or Foe, players take the role of Spider-Man from the Marvel Comics enterprise. In this lighthearted RPG meets arcade style game, Spidey, with the help of the New Goblin, must defeat Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, and Venom. Rather than only fighting the enemies, Spidey must also find out why they are mysteriously disappearing and what nefarious deeds their kidnapper has planned.Friend or Foe begins with an attack on Spidey where he is saved by Nick Fury. He then sets up the game challenge. The same sort of asteroid that brought Venom to earth has delivered five shards that Nick worries may bring other symbiotes. While hunting down these shards, Spidey encounters a new, dangerous kind of foot soldier, known as a P.H.A.N.T.O.M., which is short for Perpetual Holographic Avatar Nano-Tech Offensive Monsters. These creatures appear to be helping a mysterious enemy brainwash and control various villains to attack Spidey and S.H.I.E.L.D. As Spidey frees each bad guy from mind control, that villain swears revenge on the person mind controlling them and works to assist Spidey in some way. Spidey also gets help from various other Marvel heroes, including Black Cat, Iron Fist, Silver Sable, Prowler, Lizard, and Blade, to discover the identity of the culprit. Throughout the game, Spidey fights enemies using an intuitive combo system of kicks, punches, and jumps. This rewards players for learning Spidey's move set and using it to deal damage to enemies. Punches and kicks are supplemented by Spidey's web slinging, which he can use to move quickly around the arena, tie up enemies, or cause enemies to smash into one another. Spidey is never without a sidekick, who shares a similar move set with the exception of web based moves and can be controlled by a second player. The overall mood of the fights is analogous to the comics with an emphasis on comical sound effects, cartoonish enemies, and a lighthearted atmosphere. This helps make the game much more approachable for younger players when compared to other Spidey games, as does its E-rated content.Friend or Foe can be an approachable Spider-Man game for the Xbox 360 with easily learned controls that young children and nongamers can pick up easily. With an E rating and an emphasis on comic book style combat, younger Spidey fans can enjoy this game. The same goes for gamers who like games they can just pick up and play. This game can also offer a unique two player experience on the Xbox, with two players being able to play simultaneously for the same team, each one using their own Xbox 360 controller. Great for kids and achievements
I bought this game for my son's 4th birthday. He loved watching me play the demo, but I was so tired of the same level over and over again I bit the bullet to get the whole game. To my surprise when we put the game in he insisted on playing because it was his game. He'd never used the controller before but after 15 minutes he had the general idea. He passed the first level and unlocked 25 gamerscore in his first sitting. The bosses are little above his pay scale right now, but I just join with the other controller, help him out and jump back out. So the Spider-man: Friend or Foe is either a game that is really simple or my son is a really awesome. I tend to think a little of both. Spider man Friend or Foe
personally i rate this a good game for kids, in fact a great game for kids. My 3 and a half old loves spiderman and eventually caused me to download the demo from live. He loved that level so much I went ahead and got him the game and in true style he has flown right through it with me and loves it. We've had a great time playing together and you would be surprised what a child can learn from even a game. Little glitchy in some areas but solid good looking game, never got stuck anywhere or other annoying glitches. If your child likes spiderman they will love this game from my experience.personally i rate this a good game for kids, in fact a great game for kids. Great game for kids and fanboys alike
Personally, I am a comic book geek, so my review might be a little biased. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe puts you in the shoes (skintight foot coverings) of the Amazing Spider-Man. You have access to all of his web abilities from web grab to web shoot and stun. The abilities are all that you could ask for in a Spider-Man game, with several different powers to upgrade under each ability. For example, under the web shoot ability, you can unlock and upgrade the web bomb power, which shoots a massive web bomb to the closest targets and pops them all in the air for you to web grab them and slam them on the ground causing massive impact damage to everyone around. You can then wrap a guy up in webbing and beat him like a pinata or shoot web balls a him, or throw him off the ledge, whatever you ... You ALSO get to control a total of 13 of Spider-Man's friends and foes in this game, hence the title. These characters range from Silver Sable and Iron Fist to Sandman, Doc Ock, and yes, Venom. Each sidekick can be controlled whenever you feel necessary and each also has a few powers and upgrades to unlock. You do have the ability to execute a hero strike power up, which means that Spidey and whatever sidekick you choose, team together to perform a massive super attack that destroys everything in your path. Each sidekick has a different hero strike and the animations during them range from ok to downright awesome. The game is a straight brawler, meaning that you won't be doing much other than beating down bad guys and fighting the bosses. There is very little room to web swing in this game even though you still can, which is ok. As far as sound, graphics and presentation, I think it could use a little work on the graphics (which are cartoon block style), the sound (ok at best), but the presentation is pretty cool. You operate and upgrade everything from the safety of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier, which is cool, cuz you get to hang with Nick Fury. All in all, I think any young one, or fanboy like me will definitely enjoy playing this game, even though it sometimes does get a little repetitive. But seriously, you can't have a half-upgraded Sandman and expect to rock bad guys with him, so get the game, upgrade everyone and figure out for yourself, who's a Friend and who will always be a Foe. p.s. - the achievements (1000 points) in this game are incredibly easy to get, so if you play for achievements and you like Spider-Man, well case closed.

If you have children. It’s fantastic if you child is a fan of Spider-Man also.
I collect Spider-Man everything, so I love it always. It was crazy expensive about 5 months ago and I’m glad to complete my Spider-Man video game collection. Thank you very much
