To a watch collector, this is probably the only reference book to give an accurate guide to the price of collectable watches. The book covers not only American pocket watches and some wristwatches but also many Swiss, French, German and English watches dating back to the 16th century. I have been purchasing this book for the past 20+ years and use it as a reference when bidding. People using the book should take into consideration that the prices reflect the price of precious metals at the time the book is written/published and these can fluctuate.To a watch collector, this is probably the only reference book to give an accurate guide to the price of collectable watches. The book covers not only American pocket watches and some wristwatches but also many Swiss, French, German and English watches dating back to the 16th century. I bought this book last week upon the recommendation of a fellow ebay member to help me learn more about watches and to guide me further in my collection of antiques watches, its really a must have for serious watches collector and comprehensive guide to different watches from its existence to watches up to date, you get to learn a lot about watches specially the antiques one ,how this small timepiece machine work in the early days, simply amazing.I bought this book last week upon the recommendation of a fellow ebay member to help me learn more about watches and to guide me further in my collection of antiques watches, its really a must have for serious watches collector and comprehensive guide to different watches from its existence to watches up to date, you get to learn a lot about watches specially the antiques one ,how this small timepiece machine work in the early days, simply amazing.

Great book for a lot of the higher end watches. Not so much info on the lower end. Some of this is due to the huge numbers of common watches and the many varieties of cheaper movements. I would still rate this guide as excellent.
