    at home in mitford

    I decided to buy it for the 6th time because I really loved this book and want to share it with all my friends. It is a wonderful and wholesome book without casual sex. Some of the "f" words in it are faithful and friend and funny and freedom and food. The characters are great and the book really comes alive, not like some which seem to be written just to put across a point. The writing flows. The characters are funny and at least one is quite wicked. They have their foibles and problems. The pastor in the story truly lives his life in Christ and his faith is not just a religion. It is one of my favorite series along with Harry Potter and the Chronicles of Narnia.

    Get Ready to Be Blessed!

    I can't say enough good things about the Mitford series and Jan Karon's writing. I'm reading the nine books in this series again -- the early ones for the fourth time! I don't think I will ever grow tired of these engaging characters, the nostalgic setting, or of Ms. Karon's style. I've bought several copies of all the Mitford books (mostly from eBay sellers) to give as gifts. I find them insightful and heartwarming, and I hope you do, too.

    Truly a Preasurable Read

    My first copy was a Christmas gift and I thought, "When will I have time to read a book?" Especially a book for pleasure. Well,it didn't take long.I started and found it difficult to lay down. I shared it with someone at church, and she shared with someone else and so on and so on. Long story short-I haven't seen my book since. That's okay. I've bought other copies to give to people in the hospital or nursing home. Now, I put my name on waiting lists for new publications. This is SUCH a good series.
