Let's call her Taylor "Freshness" Swift!
I believe that Taylor Swift is getting better at what she does. Her songwriting and her singing have progressed, and it is so good to see. Not that she was ever lacking in songwriting and singing skills, but I think with "Red" we are witnessing an artist who most definitely has longevity. She seems to be striving for improvement and a freshness instead of resting on her laurels. My personal favorite on the album just happens to be the first cut "State of Grace." With "State of Grace" we see an artist who can definitely write catchy melodies that you don't mind getting stuck in your brain. The lyrics are fresh (not a rehash), and I could listen to her voice all day. Whatever the word is for the opposite of grating, that's how I would like to define her voice. I was already a fan, but more so now with the release of "Red". Other personal favorite cuts on this album are "Stay Stay Stay", "I Knew You Were Trouble", and "The Last Time". She branched out and co-wrote a handful of songs for this album with other songwriters that she admired (Max Martin, Ed Sheeran, and Gary Lightbody), and it payed off. The result is an album that does not remind you of any of her previous albums. It'll be interesting to see how different her next album will be. *Note - I actually purchased the two CD set of "Red". I think the extra cost was worth it for the six extra songs. I was most interested in the acoustic version of "State of Grace", but the three songs that don't appear on the single disc version are catchy and nice to have if you are a real fan. If you are thinking about buying "Red" but are sitting on the fence, I suggest jumping off that fence and heading to your local record/CD store (or online, whatever).

A completely different Taylor Swift comes out in this album. Her country roots have dropped and risen into more of a funkier pop star. Taylors audience is more applied to teenage girls and early 20's group, Im in my late 20's and really enjoyed 4 of the songs on here, everything has changed,I almost do, begin again and sad beautiful tragic are my top picks. Not every song on here is a winner but there are songs on that will appeal to every listening Taylor fan ears.A completely different Taylor Swift comes out in this album. Moving On
Taylor Swift is a superstar and Red was a worldwide phenomenon so I expected to be knocked out. But I wasn't. While the music itself is engaging enough, I was more intrigued with the lyrics of songs such as "State of Grace" and "Red" and especially "Treacherous" and "All to Well." In the end, Red didn't spend hours in my player as do those albums that truly delight me. Millions purchased Red and millions no doubt thoroughly loved it. I'm just not one of them. Moving on. Text. Loved the entire CD, it's truely awesome:)
I was very sceptical while purchasing this CD, I bought it for "We are never getting back together", I felt she kinda got away from the country and went more pop for a younger crowd, I am 41 and when I listened to the entire CD, there was not one single song on there that I didn't enjoy. Taylor Swift is amazing and she has a talent like no other I've known.
