Princess Diaries, a charming keeper! :-)
Actually this purchase is still in route. But I can write about the movie as we have previously owned this DVD. Actually, it was a purchase originally made for our teen-aged daughter a few years ago, when it first came out. Somewhere along the way, we realized that someone borrowed our first version of this movie, and/or was taken to a friend's home to view. But the movie just never made it's way back to our DVD collection at home. - I am replacing it because it is a charming movie for families, and young ladies especially love it! My eldest son would refer to it as a chick flick, but even he has watched it a few times, even if with his girlfriends, lol. - Actually, I do prefer this first installment over the the 2nd one, it's fresher and characters more charming in the coming of age ... Great Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway Movie
This movie is one of my favorites. For one it co-stars my favorite actress, Julie Andrews, and debuts Anne Hathaway, who has become one of my favorite actresses. Secondly, it is a well done story of a common girl, Mia, played by Anne Hathaway, who learns she is really a princess. In the movie the Queen of Genovia (Julie Andrews) takes on the challenge of Mia's princess training, as she is the last hope of keeping the throne from a count and countess, who are greedy for the power. Beind a princess is something Mia never dreamt of and with it causing her to lose her life of invisibility that she enjoyed she thinks about giving up her claim to the throne. In the end will she accept or reject her title as Princess of Genovia?This movie is one of my favorites. To many scratches on this disc.wasn't worth $4.62..
Smh..I like the movie but not all the scratches and finger prints I wiped off..every other disc I've been getting has been perfect and a food price..but not this one...

The Princess Diaries DVD
I enjoy watching this movie. It is family friendly and provides a good amount of humor. I love the story of Mia Thermopolis, from her journey of being a nobody to the day she chooses to make a difference. I bought this DVD because I owned the first one before it. The Royal Engagement is my favorite beyond favorite, but I wanted the first Princess Diaries movie to lead up to the second so I can someday share these movies with my children. I believe this movie along with the sequel provide excellent lessons every child should learn.I enjoy watching this movie. It is family friendly and provides a good amount of humor.
