Get in there, soldier! With the advancements in technology and lust for territorial gains, six powerful nations have locked forces in a ferocious war. Ranging from German, Japanese and Russian forces to the British, French, and American armies, players must guide their troops to victory by any means necessary. There is one thing, though -- these armies consist of power hungry hogs dressed in sophisticated uniforms. Infogrames North America Inc.'s Hogs of War is a turn-based strategy game in which players battle rival nations, bloodthirsty pigs, and a speedy clock. Using an army of three to six pigs in any given confrontation, battles are conducted throughout vast 3D territories with plenty of room for exploration and nooks and crannies in which to hide and set up devastating ambushes. Because the clock is constantly breathing down your neck, you'll need to think of strategies on the fly and make quick and decisive decisions. Are you going to move in and kick some swine butt or play it defensively? Time's up! There is little room for hesitation. As the general, you'll supply your hogs with powerful weapons and useful tools including ripple bombs, accurate sniper rifles, and jetpacks that breathe new life into the age-old adages about 'when pigs fly.' If you're unable to make your decisions within the allotted time period, you will have left your troops in danger. Once the clock reaches zero, it turns the action over to the opposing force who will then exploit your inability to think quickly. Play smart and try and setup strategies that will leave the opposition in dire straits. In addition to the various single and multiplayer campaigns, Hogs of War features an exclusive Level Generator that allows players to create and manipulate an endless supply of map territories. There's also a Training scenario that familiarizes players with the turn-based action, flow of gameplay, and controls. Don't you love the smell of bacon in the morning!?

Pros:Funny,addictive,great multiplayer,never get's old. Cons:Really only one thing, the single player. Hogs of war delivers a strong strategy. Infogrames has done there job in this one. Highly recommended for friends and family to play for a good time. When I first played this game it was awesome. Better than any other game I played (besides Halo 1). This game has humor and destruction all in one package. You go from hogs screaming to hogs exploding. That's right each time on dies a hog explodes it to a small cloud off blood. Before each hog fires and another enemy hog he will say something to the other hog or taunt them. After each mission you get promotion points. You can put it on any hog you want. You even have a healing rifle. That's right. You can shoot a fellow ally and heal him same as grenades. Here's a hint if you don't have healing packs simply just point the healing rifle in the straight up air and let it come down to heal yourself. You also have a time limit usually from 30 seconds to a minute. Graphics are pretty good for a Playstation. This game has many levels. So get it. This game is not short. Don't listen to websites and magazines about the ratings. It's sad that websites and magazines only care about graphic material and voice dialogue. Listen to me this game is loaded with minutes to hours to days with fun. Better than most shooters out there. I promise. First, the single player campaign. You start out by picking your team. Don't worry no other team has a special advantage just colors and names. Then you’re training task which is simple. After you progress through that you come to your first hog skirmish which easy. Each time you accomplish a mission you get promotion points for you hogs. Just like I said above. The higher you get in the game it gets real hard. Good luck. Finally multiplayer. The best part of the game. This is probably one the top ten best multiplayer games in the world. Up to four players. You have maps you can play on and teams you can pick. You can use the same material in single player in multiplayer. And loading times are short. BUY THIS GAME FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!! Now the bad things about Hogs of War. It seems in my opinion that Infogrames has concentrated more on the multi player than single player. Don't get me wrong, but the multiplayer is much better than single player and single player is fun to. Sometimes this game can get you frustrated easily (talking about single player). Like I said the farther you get the harder it gets. Cheat codes don't change anything. All you get is different hog teams. Sometimes a lack of A.I.(Artificial Intelligence which is the enemies brains). All in all this game deserves a 5/5 -Cole Price

Underrated
I enjoy these type of games so it was an easy purchase for me to make. I think it deserves more recognition and I especially recommend this to fans of the "Worms" franchise.

I played this game on my first deployment in the Marine Corps and I have loved this game ever since. The only place I could find it was on EBay so I had to buy it. It is a fun game that has humor added in to it. Who would think of putting bazookas, mortars, and various types of weapons in the hands of hogs. For me, it is just a fun game that does get more challenging as the game goes on, but is loads of fun and something you can play with your kids, if you have them, due to the cartoon nature of the game.I played this game on my first deployment in the Marine Corps and I have loved this game ever since. This ps1 game is the best multi-player game to come out in 2000. With humor, varity of weapons and tons of strategy. This game is a one turn at a time, like checkers. On campaign mode, you will have a goal; to kill all enemey combatants, destroy enememy buildings and collect promotional icon. Promotional point are earned for winning level. After promotions a gain in hit point and weapons. Multi-player mode you can play up to 4 players. The goal to to live and to kill them all....lol. Both modes are not just limited to boots on the ground attacts. Use of tanks, pillboxs, turrets and even air attacts using a blimp, called an airstrike. This game is very entertaining with everything you can do. Not too complex to learn and play but with challenge you with strategy to keep all your comrade ...
