wow - what more can one say
I finally got a chance to watch this last night, and to be completely honest – it blew me away. It starts with artists putting together projects and tracks the evolution of what they are making, which was interesting and unexpected. Also, it provided a great insight into what actually has to happen behind the scenes for this to happen year after year, I was one of those who assumed it just kind of fell together. What I found really engrossing however was once people started arriving on the playa, you can actually watch as a community builds and develops, you can see personal barriers coming down and lives changing! It’s truly remarkable. Following David Best building the temple was almost heart wrenching at times, I can only imagine how hard it must be to let go of something you’ve ... I ordered this because this is my first year going to BM. After watching this, I’m pretty sure I am going to cry at some point, I’m very sure that it’s going to be a bit of a life changing experience, I’m positive that BRC will soon be considered home. I highly recommend this for virgins, and likely for veterans as it’s pretty damn close to being there I’m sure (better than smelling old socks and such). It’s a tense/emotional watch, I’m sure it’s just a taste of the actual experience.

Awesome BRC Video
I had heard this documentary was well done and I wanted to have something to show others who know nothing of Burning Man. It is an Awesome video, there are two parts, one is time spent with some of the artists, as they create their work in their studios before bringing them to the desert,and there is follow thru footage as the pieces are installed and people interact with them. I loved that part. A lot of time is spent with David Best as he creates the most gorgeous temple, I think it was 2003 & 4 and there is also time spent just being there. There are clips on the website with the same name as the DVD, worth checking out. Worth watching. Burning Man is such an incredibly life filling event, if you are not an attendee, you will have at least a good visual of the heart of this festival of ... Burning Man documentary
I have all the Burning Man videos as I am a long time Burner.This is about how the event really happens-hard work,creativity and humor.It's a well done documentary with enough festival in it to keep it interesting.You may also want to check out Journey to the flames(a private documentary) and Auqaburn by Bill Breithaupt.These films are good for the "off season" when you long for that Black Rock magic.I have all the Burning Man videos as I am a long time Burner.This is about how the event really happens-hard work,creativity and humor.It's a well done documentary with enough festival in it to keep it interesting.You may also want to check out Journey to the flames(a private documentary) and Auqaburn by Bill Breithaupt.These films are good for the "off season" when you long for that Black Rock magic.

Beyond Black Rock DVD
This video was really well done and a pleasure to watch. Very informative, especially if you know nothing about Burning Man. My ONLY complaint is that I would have liked to have seen MORE footage of different theme camps, as I am very intrigued by them. Other than that, it is well worth owning this slice of the underground culture, for sure!

Great DVD!
Excellent DVD documenting Burning Man. It presents the festival factually, without trying to make it look like some sort of freak-show. Lots of interviews with the people who make it happen. Great video footage of the event. Very well done.
