Great Interwoven Plot
This series is great and the first to last. It gives a good account of the time and ways of ancient Rome without being boring nor overly descriptive. The characters are easy to understand but easy to fall in love with. I do notice that the phrases used are used over and over, so much that you know the word coming ahead of time. Example: when someone gets dazed when hit in the head. It is getting more and more explicit as I go through the series so be away of language and situations if a minor is reading them. I have read eight of the books so far, and cannot put them down. All the actions are believable, as much as they ever can be when you know the major characters cannot die. I recommend them and this one in particular as being well done. They are stand alone, so try one and get ... This series is great and the first to last. The eagle prophecy
Great read!!. Simon Scarrow has hit another homerun with this book. I have read all his other books regarding Cato and Macro. Truely, Scarow tells the reader what it would have been like in 44 AD. The story has great plots and twists.
