Wonderful story of large family of bears, in seasons
Extremely well written, wonderfully illustrated book that is a joy to read over and over again. This book stimulates children to think, and remember, as it repeats the fourteen names and the activities of the bears. Additionly, the length of the book is just right, written so it can be read as a summer book, or a winter book or complete Summer and Winter. Or of course your child may have just a few pages that they love. In the past few years Grandparents were paying $200 to $300 and more for warn-out copies, this alone should show how much the book was loved back in the early 1970. And how valued to their children. This new edition will be enjoyed just as much.Extremely well written, wonderfully illustrated book that is a joy to read over and over again. Yay! We found it!!
We decided to buy this book because it held special childhood memories for my wife. Once we found it we were ecstatic! It came to us in great condition and will get read to our kids. It's a great story about a family of bears. They all spend time together, but they are also very different individuals. You get to see their separate tree houses and they all chose different ways to decorate for Christmas. My wife loved it as a kid and enjoys it probably more than our 9 month old daughter! Everyone should have a copy of this book!!We decided to buy this book because it held special childhood memories for my wife. Once we found it we were ecstatic! It came to us in great condition and will get read to our kids. It's a great story about a family of bears. They all spend time together, but they are also very different individuals. This is a wonderful book!!
I loved this book when I was a little girl. I looked for a copy for my baby girl and couldn't believe how much everyone love this book...I found the copies going for hundreds of dollars. I was so happy to see it was put into print again. My 2 year little girl loves all of the different animals in the book. There are owls, skunks, dear, minks and many more. All of the different names of the bears shes learning too. I highly recommend this book, don't let the older cover look keep you from enjoying this story!!I loved this book when I was a little girl. Rediscovered Treasure!!
The Fourteen Bears was my favorite library book as a girl! I would check it out over and over, and spend hours going over all the the wonderfully detailed illustrations. I always wished I could climb into the pages and see all of their houses, and taste all the honey. I thought this book was out of print. I was so excited to find it, so that I can share it with my children. My three-year-old loves to pore over the illustrations just like I did.The Fourteen Bears was my favorite library book as a girl!
