Easy to fix a common problem with these Sound Machines, read on!
All complaints about this Sound Machine could be cured simply by changing the CR2032 size backup battery (item #15 in User Manual) located in the bottom of the battery compartment. There is a small button cell battery that keeps the time and settings when the unit is unplugged, and when this battery goes bad, the unit will do all kinds of crazy things. Make sure item #16 in the User Manual, the lockout tab for the backup battery has been removed also. In the unit I purchased, the tab was still intact, meaning the battery never made contact and was never used at all! Look inside the compartment and you will see a small screw that must be removed in order to access the battery. Change it if necessary, and be sure to press the very, very tiny "reset" button (item #14 in User Manual) that is ... Great travel size sound machine!!
This was a replacement for my 10 year old machine which I lost. Brookstone discontinued this item andI could not find anything similar for a replacement until I found a new one on E-bay. The machine is a nice small size - has a clock - has a wall plug and can also be used with batteries - great for travelling! Note: when travelling in Europe you need to be careful if you plug into their power sockets.I burnt my plug out in Prague a couple of years ago. Good snooze
I had this same travel clock which conked out after so many years. Brookstone went out of business. Thankfully found this on eBay. It is the only travel clock that has a 15 min snooze. Every other clock is 5 or 10 min including Alexa.

Love the product
Love this clock radio, can't find now except I found on ebay. Hope they have them in the future should I need one. So easy to set up, love the rain sound at night when I am going to sleep. Best thing ever.

Better Than Ever
This is a replacement for a unit that died about 2 years ago after working non-stop for about 15 years. I've tried and/or read reviews of many others, but none seem to match this machine for its choices of sounds, functionality and quality. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.
