À propos de ce produit

Product Information

As a mirrorless, interchangeable lens camera, the Olympus E-PM1 is lightweight, at only 7.65 ounces without batteries, and incorporates the technology for a Micro Four Thirds lens. This allows flexibility to use a range of lenses from wide-angle to telephoto. The 14-42 mm II R zoom lens is included with the E-PM1 bundle, which just touches on the scope of potential opportunities for a varied photography portfolio. Because of its compact size, the Olympus E-PM1 camera is also referred to as the PEN Mini. The black camera body is compatible with a variety of interchangeable accessories. Select the image quality for RAW or JPEG still images. For images expected to be printed, large- or middle image sizes are required as the pixel count ranges from 1600 x 1200 to 4032 x 3024. For small prints intended to be used on websites, small image size is best at pixel count 640 x 480, 1024 x 768, and 1280 x 960. The Olympus PEN E-PM1 makes it simple to select the size within custom menus. Choose from easy shooting modes or advanced shooting modes. The iAUTO easy shooting mode is an automatic optimization setting. The Live Guide system provides the ability to preview and apply special effects to adjust color saturation, color temperature, brightness, background blur, and motion within iAUTO mode before the image is committed to the memory card. If seeking artistic photographs, the ART shooting mode provides the following art filters: pop art, soft focus, grainy film, pin hole, diorama, and dramatic tone. SCN is an easy mode for a variety of purposes including portraits, landscapes, sunsets, fireworks, beach and snow scenes, panoramas, fisheye effects, wide-angle, macro photography, and 3D images. To control the results of each image, the advanced modes of these Olympus cameras allow the photographer to adjust the aperture value and shutter speed. The ISO sensitivity can be set to a specific value between 200 to 12,800 or set to auto. When auto is selected, the ISO sensitivity automatically adjusts to the conditions. The flash unit can be attached to the Olympus E-PM1 and used depending on the intended results. Auto flash will provide a flash of light when the subject is in low lit areas or when backlighting applies. Combine the use of flash with shutter speed adjustments to create trails of light or reduce red eye. The 12.3 megapixel sensor makes it possible for the Olympus E-PM1 cameras to record in low light conditions and Full HD video recording. Video recorded in Full HD Fine, Full HD Normal, HD Fine, and HD Normal can be as large as 4 GB or 29 minutes long with an image sensor output of 30 frames per second. HD and SD video recordings can be up to 2 GB. Play back recorded video or view, edit, and resize still images on the 3-inch LCD built-in display screen.

  • A great compact camera that takes fantastic pictures!

I bought this camera to complement my Olympus E-PL2. I had planned to make the E-PL2 my main camera, while using the E-PM1 for occasional use as I would a point-and-shoot unit. I have been amazed, however, at the E-PM1 for its excellent construction, fast shooting, and picture quality. For most shots, I have used the E-PM1 with an Olympus 17mm prime lens. This combination has been a pleasure to use. Not only does the lens suit the camera in appearance and handy size, but the sharpness, depth of field and color are fantastic. The pictures taken with this camera are so good, they seem unlikely to come from such a compact camera. I highly recommend the Olympus E-PM1!

  • Quality imaging in a portable, functional and capable camera.

Looking for an easier camera to carry than my full sized prosumer DSLR on hiking and other active trips- my search landed me on the PEN series of cameras. Having a full featured DSLR at my disposal, I wanted a camera that would serve as a point and shoot, yet give me manual control when I felt the "creative urge." I settled on the E-PM1 as it was the smallest and was the least intimidating if I were to hand it over to someone else. In the first few weeks of working with this camera- I can already tell it is a keeper. It is small enough with the kit lens collapsed to be almost pocketable- fitting in some loose cargo shorts I sometimes wear. Most of the time I keep it in a (tight fitting) Lowepro Apex60- where it is easily accessed and carried, or more often with the ...

  • Rado Kefilev

Conclusion - Pros 1.1 Good (not best) low ISO image quality and resolution. 1.2 Fast and responsive operation. 1.3 Fast, accurate autofocus. 1.4 Full HD AVCHD video. 1.5 AF assist lamp. 1.6 Comprehensive in-camera raw and jpeg editing capability. 1.7 High degree of camera and menu customization. 1.8 Art filters offer fun, creative effects. Conclusion - Cons 2.1 High ISO noise performance lagging behind competitors' newer sensors 2.2 Overly aggressive default noise filter setting for JPEG output 2.3 Digital IS for video capture can introduce unnatural-looking footage 2.4 Lack of a hand grip can make handling awkward with heavy lenses 2.5 Use of clip-on flash precludes use of an EVF or any other accessory port item. For me it is bad idea clip-on flash. 2.6 No ...

  • A sweet little package with a perky personality it is hard not to like

I had my doubts when I decided to acquire the E-PM1 as a second Pen body. Price settled the issue, though; I just could not afford the E-P3 (I have and love the E-P2), though I hoped to take advantage of the faster focusing lens and the new image processing. A short time with the E-PM1 later, and I can honestly say I love this little machine. I'm not a point and shoot photographer, and I was concerned that changing settings that I habitual use would be cumbersome on this camera, but they are not, not really. No, it does not have the direct access to iso, aperture, white balance and a number of other settings that are immediately available on the E-P2, but I have found changing them is fast and easy nonetheless. I typically shoot aperture priority auto with frequent exposure compensation ...

  • Great upgrade from a point and shoot!

This camera is a great upgrade from a normal point and shoot! It has good video and awesome pictures. Once you take the time to learn the features you will be happy. There are some hidden menus and features that take some time to figure out and are slightly confusing.. READ THE MANUAL!! Only con I have so far is that the auto focus during video recording is a little loud and will come through in recordings of quiet environments. This can be remedied by useing the Olympus external mic mounted somewhere other than on top of the camera because it will be the same if you just attach it in the hot shoe slot. Also, if you hear a grinding noise at slower shutter speeds try turning off the image stabilizaion because it is kind of loud. Don't worry though it's not broken.
