Explosive topic and aftermath on people's lives.
Basic plot---a man and a woman just starting to build a relationship go to a club and each invites three friends to go as well. At the end of the evening one of the woman's female friends has made charges she was raped by one of the men's friends. He counter alleges it was consensual from both parties. Friends now have to reexamine loyalties and one male friend who had gone out and liked the alleged victim feels guilty for not stopping her from leaving with the alleged criminal. Will the fledgling relationship between the man and woman survive when they must choose sides? Viewers are shown the incident from both sides and then must decide where they stand on what happened. The dynamic of eight people being affected by this instead of just two set this movie apart from the 'he said, she ... Easy peasy.
The storyline deals with serious issues in a calming critical thought process. No jumping the gun here on guilty parties. I also enjoyed the music, i. e., the last scene with Amanda Peet's character curled up on the bed with the song in the background. My favorite because it is memorable.
