    Good, But Could Have Been Better

    I enjoyed the movie. Solid Green Lantern movie. They probably could have went with something more epic, GL comics certainly have many epic storylines, but it was still good. Solid animation, good voice-acting, and good battle-scenes. Things mostly stuck to the comic roots, as well. I enjoyed the extras, a lot. I had heard from other GL fans about the Duck Dodgers GL episode, but never had watched it before this, so that was a big plus. And I'm a HUGE Justice League Unlimited fan, so the 3-parter as an extra was fantastic. It was almost like getting a whole other feature movie. This DVD is definetly worth the price it goes for.

    Awesome quality feature length animation from the DC Universe!

    I have always loved animation from the DC Universe, ever since the 90's Batman Animated Series. With these latest direct to DVD animated movies from DC Comics I can enjoy quality feature length animation. Green Lantern is one of my favorite characters and this movie brought new light to his origin story and especially with the new movie starring Ryan Reynolds coming this Summer it is definitely required watching! "In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night. No Evil Shall Escape My Sight. Let Those Who Worship Evil's Might, Beware My Power, Green Lantern's Light!"

    The beginning of the War of the Lanterns.

    It's a creative retelling of the origins of both Green Lantern Hal Jordan and his arch nemesis Sinestro.

    The Green Lantern - NOT for kids

    This is a classic DC Comic - granted it is rated PG13, but the swearing was really unnecessary and added nothing to a film that could have been fun for the kids & I to enjoy. Also, some of the death scenes (spoiler alert - especially to one of the Green Lantern females) was way overboard & gory. I think this film would have had greater success, and could have been enjoyed by families & kids if they would have created & marketed it in a much more intelligent way.
