Good step-by-step guide to horse keeping
The text and many photos in this book are a good guide on how to do many of the everyday caretaking tasks involved in keeping a horse. From equipment and it's proper adjustment to safe handling techniques in various situations on the ground, to grooming, bathing, braiding and clipping, Cherry Hill has provided a book that will benefit new horse owners and others who may not have done these tasks before. I especially appreciate the safety issues she covers on how the handler should put the halter on, how to go through a gate with the horse, how to safely turn the horse loose and how to position yourself by the horse when working with it. I recommend this book and the other photo step-by-step books in Cherry Hill's series for their common sense and easy to follow approach to working safely ... Easy reading, great illustrations!
I enjoyed this book very much because the author makes her teaching easy to understand using good pictures. I highly recommend this book for people just getting into horse care! :)

excellent horse handling book
good reading level for a preteen. love that it gives basic horse handling information with pictures. excellent used quality--in hindsight wish I'd looked for new.

A Must Have For The Horse Lover
I thought this book was a great book. Helps you step by step (with photos) how to take care of your horse. Even has how to groom your horse for the ring. This book is great for someone just learning the basics all the way to learning how to braid your horses mane and tail.

great for the job
I liked the book because it is easy to read and in beautiful colors. I started working with horses all of a sudden ahd needed all the help I could get. And this book was a just that I would totally recomend it.
