À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Blending science fiction and fantasy, the first book of the Coldfire Trilogy tells a dark tale of an alien world where nightmares are made manifest. Over a millennium ago, Erna, a seismically active yet beautiful world was settled by colonists from far-distant Earth. But the seemingly habitable planet was fraught with perils no one could have foretold. The colonists found themselves caught in a desperate battle for survival against the fae, a terrifying natural force with the power to prey upon the human mind itself, drawing forth a person's worst nightmare images or most treasured dreams and indiscriminately giving them life. Twelve centuries after fate first stranded the colonists on Erna, mankind has achieved an uneasy stalemate, and human sorcerers manipulate the fae for their own profit, little realizing that demonic forces which feed upon such efforts are rapidly gaining in strength. Now, as the hordes of the dark fae multiply, four people--Priest, Adept, Apprentice, and Sorcerer--are about to be drawn inexorably together for a mission which will force them to confront an evil beyond their imagining, in a conflict which will put not only their own lives but the very fate of humankind in jeopardy.

Avis les plus pertinents

  • Black Sun Rising is a great read

This book mixes Sci Fi with Fantasy. It is an exploration of good and evil. It exposes the fact that sometimes evil can be good and yes good can take advantage of evil for good. It was written by someone who is great at bringing out characters deepest feelings and fears and expressing very well how they overcome those fears. The technology and use of magic is explored and documented well. This first book in the series is very strong. The whole series is a great read and will leave you wanting more of this genre.

  • title is nice

Hi-quality fantasy/sci-fi book. C.S. Friedman has a vivid imagination and writes with an easy language. I'll recommend this book to anybody.

  • Didn't receive the book

It says on EBay and on the tracking number that it was at my house two weeks ago. It is not at my house, neighbors houses or the post office. I ordered this book and it's sequel. Did not get either.
