    Great history.

    What I like about this book is the way it ties together so many strands of history, and the author shows how he did it. This book reads like an investigation into the life of the "Real" John Henry, where the author brings the reader along as he uncovers clues using the historical record. This is a great resource for American folk history, Southern history, railroad history, and Afro-American history.
