Perfect for a toddler
My 17 month old needs books to be short and simple. She enjoys this one. It is giving some basic elements of the "nativity scene" and ends with baby Jesus. We also purchased the "God Made Christmas" dvd and she loves that as well. I will probably pull this out at Christmastime the next few years for us to read off and on. I saw another review, probably on Amazon, comparing the text to the lyrics "I said the cow, etc." It is similar. Each page starts with "I am/ we are ____" and has a short rhyme for a star, the shepherds, the wise men, a cow, a ram, a donkey, Mary, and ends with baby Jesus. Christmas in the Manger
Nice simple board book for toddlers and others who don't need a lot of words. Nice clear pictures with the beautiful shining star on just about every page. Love the flaps! The original Christmas story told very plainly. Good beginning book.

Realyy liked this book for it's simplistic presentation of the Christmas story. Short to the point and colorful pages in board book format are great for my little one's hands. A great way to share what Christmas is all about to the very young.
