    Food for thought.

    This is a "how to succeed in business" book. The restaurant business has great appeal to millions. This book is a must for anyone contemplating this field, but it has almost equal value for anyone who wants to be a business person. The author tells how he prepared himself, leaving nothing to chance. Anyone who has patronized his restaurants, can see what went into providing them a most enjoyable experience. Care is given to the smallest details, both in food and service. For any business, the writer's priorities can be profitably followed. Surprisingly, employees come before patrons. Investors trail. Think about it. Well trained and happy employees ultimately does exceedingly well by all.

    A New Way to Look at Management

    It's a management book that uses examples from the culinary world. Some parts of it seem a bit self-aggrandizing, and other parts may only be of interest to a restaurateur, but overall it provides a framework for using hospitality as the impetus for great management and leadership.

    Setting the Table

    Success in buiness, be it the restaurant genre as describe artfully by Mr. Meyer, or any other, is elegently outline in this work. Focus on your employees and THEY will tend to your customers. While not ground breaking, Mr. Meyer's extended formula for success can be easily carried over to ANY business setting. We have made this work mandatory reading at my company - we place that level of value on the piece. The fruits of that mandate are coming to fruition and I am grateful for the time, effort, and energy Mr. Meyer put into this project! As a sidebar - it is an entertaining, pleasent read for anyone interested in the restaurant business or any other. Five Stars.

    The book is full of information. Danny Meyer is a genius and a role model for people interested in the hospitality industry.
