The GREGG Shorthand Dictionary Simplified is divided into two parts: Part I contains 26,098 words most commonly used in notation with their official shorthand outlines. Also included are words that are frequently used in such fields as medicine, law, engineering, chemistry, and many others. These words represent a large range of vocabulary, omitting derivites that are not needed in shorthand.     Gregg Shorthand Manual Simplified

    Gregg shorthand was one of the subjects at which I excelled in high school, but I never got the chance to use it in the real world. Cut to thirty years later, and now I have the desire to relearn it. Shorthand came back to me as soon as I began to study this book, which does an excellent job at drilling the Gregg concepts. I've been relearning shorthand for a couple months now and am getting better every day, and I can thank this book for that. Since it's copyright 1955, the material has an outdated slant, but that's to be expected. It doesn't impact the effective teaching methods presented therein. The only real flaw is that there's no longhand answer key, which would be helpful when transcribing the shorthand symbols. I'm forced to guess at times and assume I've translated the ...

    Good book

    I originally checked this book out at the library because I wanted to try and learn Gregg Shorthand. I liked this book and thought it explained things really well, so I decided to buy myself a copy off of eBay. If you're wanting to learn Gregg Shorthand, I think that this book would be a good option for you.

    Amazed how much I remember from 40 years ago ...

    Tired of scribbling notes at meetings that I can't read later, I decided to go back and relearn Gregg. This book is much updated from that older school version. I can see that this will be handy in ever aspect of life, from scribbling observations for later review and follow up and just having notes few can decypher. And, it's a clean book in good repair and those are hard to come by these days.

    Really great book

    Superior book from a superior age. It amazes me when I read from these that people ask me if it's Arabic. Shows you how smart your adult kids aren't.

    Excited

    I took a shorthand class in high school and did well but a few years after graduating I did not continue using the skill of shorthand. Now I have decided to refresh my skills again. So far I’m enjoying learning once again this style of writing and note taking through Gregg Simplified Shorthand Manual.
