very good kit includes very detailed datasheets/msds type of documents. The booklet included enough info to be of use. I noticed the size of the print was very small if this is a problem for you? The quality of the stains should be industry standard at least, but I do know they aren't junk. good company.

A good beginning
It has been many years since my first microscope, as someone recently wrote, "Fast forward 20+ years to me browsing eBay, doing what most adults do; try to buy back their childhoods." Here I am, I really don't know what I'm doing or looking for, but some of that is a process of elimination. I have a microscope, and am taking the "now I need stuff" kind of approach. There is a pretty steep learning curve to this, that isn't necessarily bad. Lots of resources online to help out. For some reason I thought there would be some sort of box to hold these items, kind of organize them. I was hoping for nothing fancy just a foam holder. There is no box, no holder, just bags with the loose components. There is a pretty nice assortment of stains and other goodies. What you see in the picture ... For the price paid and looking at alternatives out there this is a reasonably good deal. A friend who has some experience with such things points out that the aqueous stains should not kill living organisms, as the low alcohol percentage solutions. This is a good thing. A couple concave slides so that a drop of water or whatever could be placed on the slide would be a nice and useful addition. This calls itself a "kit", but is a long way from being anything like a complete kit. It is a starting place.

Using This For homeschool bio
The only thing that would make this better is if it had a case where the bottles could stand upright. I mean, they don't leak or anything (yet!!) but it's an active household over here and someone is going to spill the methylene blue, it's just going to happen, so if there were a CASE that would be lovely. I've got it all in a recycled Cheez-its box right now. Might upgrade soon. I also think it's great that you've got slides and slide covers in the mix because all the microscope labs need stains, slides, and slide covers. The slide covers are razor thin invisible death makers. Seriously. I held one too hard on the way to the trash and a teeny piece broke off and jumped out of my hand and I swept the floor like Cinderella but it still ended up in my foot. That's on me, though, not the ... The only thing that would make this better is if it had a case where the bottles could stand upright. That's on me, though, not the product. There's probably a warning, like, "Don't just cavalierly fling this into the trash, you idiot, wrap it up in a paper towel for the love of the children." Anyway, listen, it's only like 40 bucks and has all you need for the microscope labs. I added up buying all the stains and stuff separately and it's the same price or more, and you look stupid because you're gonna want all the stains eventually, just do it now. Voila!
