Product Information

The first sports title for Nintendo's Wii showcases the platform's unique controller and its potential for revitalizing conventional genres. Versions of tennis, baseball, golf, bowling, and boxing are included in this collection designed for gamers of all backgrounds. In tennis, the Wii Remote is held like a racket, with onscreen athletes responding to the direction and speed at which players swing the input device. Lobs, serves, backhands, and smashes are all performed by moving the controller in lieu of pressing buttons. Both singles and doubles matches on multiple court surfaces are available, with the latter supporting up to four players simultaneously. Baseball and golf follow a similar style, with the Wii Remote functioning as either a bat or a club, while bowling and boxing use the device to simulate throws and punches. Wii Sports is the first game bundled with the launch of a Nintendo console since 1991's Super Mario World on Super NES.

    Wii Sports (Wii, 2006) great neophyte practice at a very affordable price.

    With the recent release of Wii U systems the early adopters have done what early adopters do, caused the older Wii units to become obsolete. Obsolete, at least, in the eyes of those that must have the latest and greatest. To those of us who had balked at adopting the last Wii, (Nintendo), on the basis of cost, this is a godsend. Wii consoles and accessories, even brand new, are all over the place at prices much reduced. This is a very advanced system with a great number and variety of games available, all at better prices than before. The Wii Sports (Wii, 2006) was a popular game to be bundled with complete Wii setups 8 years ago. It contains some pretty basic sports games with graphics typical of the time. Meaning not so hot.     Wii Showcase Game!!!

    Pros + Fun & Addictive. + Easy to Learn. + Comes with the system. Cons - No Nintendo Characters whatsoever. - Graphics have no detail or real quality. - Gameplay is almost too simple at times. - Controls may be a little too sensitive & make it easy to mess up in game. Comments Wii Sports is a fun game no doubt & at least its free. Mastering the nunchuck may take some getting use to. This game has a tremendous drain on your arm strength if you play for too long. Expect soreness in the morning. At least its exercise though. There are a few problems in the gameplay but I think its mostly the sensitive nature of the wii remote.     The game that brings families together

    Ahh Wii sports, the game that brings families together. Recently I have been playing this a lot. Bundled with the Wii, the game is very addictive, just not very deep. This game is funner with 2 people. As a special bonus, all the Miis that you make from the Wii you can play and it's just random. Now, let's talk about each of the 5 games: Golf - Well, golf is golf. The golf is what surprised me a lot. The game is actually a lot of fun, and you can get addicted to it very fast. The Wii mote is great with it, it feels like your actually swinging. The only difference is you can use one hand if you want. Baseball - Now heres a game that really shines on Wii Sports- This is my pick out of the games.     Wii Sports - Just try it...you will love it!

    Wii Sports is one of the best games to be included free with a new system. It is also highly under-rated. Most people probably would not have bought it if it was not included, but have come to love it after playing it. As you probably know, there are 5 games included: Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Golf and Boxing. What you may not know is that each game has side games you can play under the heading of TRAINING. I think this is where the game really excells. There are 3 different mini games you can play for each sport that help make you better at the activity you are training for. For example, in Tennis, you can practice hitting balls over the net. The longer you play, the faster they get and after each 10 hits, you move up to the net for 5 hits.     Wii Sports is an amazing game for those who are just learning about the Wii console and for those who are experts on how it works. I personally couldn't ask for a better game to come with a console. It really allows players and watchers alike to be in the game and in the environment. Even for those who aren't huge sports fans, like myself, Wii Sports will catch anyone's interest. There are five games to choose from: golf, bowling, tennis, boxing, and baseball.
