I thought one had to spend a lot on these to get something quality.
It doesn't feel poorly made for how inexpensive it is. And it seems to perform just as well as electric kettles that I have used which sell for a lot more. After using this for a while now I'd say that one is over paying in going with a more expensive version. There is nothing rubberized. It's hard plastic and stainless steel. Which I actually like. Rubberized or "comfort grip" handles and the like can be very difficult to clean (especially if you get oil or butter on them). This wipes down very easily. And I can fit my hand in it (my glove size is large) to scrub it. It pours a little better than some of the more expensive ones I've used. Nice large holes let the water flow out easily and there is no dribble down the side. The cord can be wound up under neath it and poke out of the ... It will make water very hot. I've not actually measured the temperature. But it is a bubbling boil that takes two more cold fills added to the sink in order to make the water tolerable to the touch. It comes to full temperature at max fill (to the line indicated) in about 10 minutes. That's a couple minutes slower than more expensive ones I've used. But not by so much that it actually matters. I only max fill it every couple of days for a small sink of dishes anyway. It will heat enough (1/8 the way to the min fill line) for a cup of tea, bowl of oatmeal, or noodles in about 2 minutes. Which is just enough time to start the water heating and in that span get everything else ready for it when it is done. And when it is done that click of the switch tripping to off is loud enough that it is all the notification I need.

It boils water!
It does what it is supposed to do. We bought it to replace the Ovente electric kettle that was made of glass, which broke and cut me while I was attempting to clean it. We decided to go with a safer, steel kettle after that. I think it is a bit slower than the Ovente. A tip for faster boiling: don't use any other heavy duty electronics (such as a microwave, food processor, space heater, etc.) while running this unit on the same circuit or it will take longer to boil the water since both appliances are competing for power.It does what it is supposed to do. Quick and easy operation!
At first, I was worried that the electric kettle's insides would quickly rust over or have some sort of blemish that would make my water taste awful. I had always used a standard kettle to boil water for my coffee, and not once had I used an electric kettle before. Luckily, I was worried over nothing. After a few cycles of boiling water to clean out the kettle, I began putting it to good use every morning in order to make my coffee. Now, it has been about two months since I purchased it, and it still works as it did when I first bought it. The kettle boils water faster than a standard stovetop kettle, it is easy to use, and it looks stylish enough. Also, it is apparently more energy-efficient than turning on the stove and slapping down a standard kettle, which is great if you are ... Good kettle
This kettle is very nice. I especially like the dry boil protection feature, my old 1970s stoneage kettle turned on even when there is no water in it, it would just keep heating until I found out it has no water, what a fire harzzard, very dangrous. With the dry boil protection feature, when it's empty, it shut off in a matter of seconds, much safer. :)

Just bought one for a friend
I love this kettle, after burning up my stove top teapot by forgetting it on the burner I switched to this and love the safety of the auto shut off and ease of use. Quick, and great handle too. Just bought one for friends and they love theirs too.
